Thanks! Yea I think for me, I am really excited to transition into learning what I really want to learn. I was not thrilled with my major here, but the one thing I will miss is the school spirit and traditions. At Penn State, there really isn't much to do other than be intensely into school pride and all that, and I don't think that really happens in med school......or does it?
 oh Penn State! Congrats on finishing school for sure!

 Maybe not as much, but certainly to some extent. Everybody in med school was excited about the Hawkeyes and lots of folks had season tickets. And you'll have time to follow Penn St. football, though I have no idea why you would want to. 😛

Through most of med school I had time to follow the HUSKERS and NASCAR.

Hey, I wouldn't consider you non traditional at all (in terms of age, anyway) because if you are applying with only 1 year off, you are right in the average age range for med school applications!

I think if you had your best experiences in college, stick with college. But if there was something monumental that happened in your year off, include that.

I think your best attribute (from what I know of you, which is obviously very little) is that you were able to achieve such a high GPA while getting tons of research experience..it shows hard work and dedication.

so i've taken the last classes of my college career...

should I feel guilty for thinking that if I had my way, I would continuously loop these past 4 years for the rest of eternity? If there has to be a future, then med school is all I really want....but I can't help but feel sad that nothing is ever going to compare to college life 🙁

Just wait.

The server is INCREDIBLY sllllllooooooooooooowwww tonight. I am gonna hang it up for a while...will check back later, but will see y'all tomorrow anyway. 😍

Ahh, I remember that as well from TV. Not one of my all time favorite Husker memories. 😳

Just skimming through this thread - sounds like a missed one heck of a vampire game. 🙁 I sooooo wanted to play but knew I wasn't going to be around much.

The wedding last night was interesting. I've never had traditional chinese food before. Very, very different from the pot stickers and chicken chow mein I was expecting!

I spent a week with my niece a few weeks ago. I love her more than anybody else in the world - words can't describe. But it made me realize that I'm not ready to adopt yet.
i adore my nephew, he turns 2 in a couple of weeks. i can guarantee you i wont be giving him a cousin though for at least another 2-3 years. probably in mid-residency when i'm about 27/28 but plans like this just about always turn out differently.

I'm struggling with the PS b/c I'm somewhere in-between a trad and a non-trad...I'm not applying straight from undergrad, but I've only had 1 year of real world non-college experience. So it's hard to know if I should focus on what I did in college or what I've been doing since.
I agree with what ironman said. 👍 Mushy's stamp of approval.

And now I'm off to bed to get some shut eye. I'm such an old fart. 😍 Just wanted to know that I 😍 you guys 😀

Have a great night!

What's a skyline?

It's this totally disgusting chili that's a Cincinnati institution (why, I have no idea). I was all excited to get some when I went to visit my folks in Cincinnati recently since they just moved there. It turns my stomach just thinking about it.

Ha! Let me run to Ft.Lauderdale and get some. Ewww! I am sure they are not making great business here  . I believe the whole putting noodles in chilli thing started back in the "old days" when they were trying to make the food go farther around the table (you know, to feed 13 children.)
