definitely. this mcdonalds is on the ground floor of one of the parking garages and is really really close to the hospital. i have seen patients standing in line there wearing hospital gowns and holding onto their IV poles. i SWEAR.

wow...the power of mcdonals

i am looking at the golden arch as I type, there is a mcdonals in downtown state college right next to where I live......it has to be the single most profitable mcdonalds in the country, jam packed with drunk penn state kids until 5am every night

haha, people still use this trick I guess.

what people don't realize is that not all doctors live the healthiest lifestyles. My friends dad is one of the most respectable cardiologists in our area and he eats cheesesteaks like you wouldn't believe!

I also could not believe how many doctors I saw taking smoking when I worked at Upenn last summer...
i was just thinking about something along these lines today and wondering how a doctor who smoked could give advice to a smoker patient with serious health issues due to smoking.

wow i'm watching this special on hot dogs...a very funny story about Nathan's hot dogs...

When Nathan's first opened, they made the mistake of calling them hot dogs and making them half price compared to the competition on coney island. People responded by not buying them, thinking they were using questionable meat (like dogs)

his solution.....he borrowed a bunch of white coats and stethoscopes and made a few friends wear them outside while eating hot dogs....if a doctor is eating it, it must be ok

it worked! now that is clever

Too funny. I just ate a Nathan's hot dog for lunch today too. 😀

yeah, i'd believe it. i remember when there was such a huge thing with their chicken nuggets and after a while they came out saying "100% white meat chicken"....who knows what they were before that! 😱

You know what's scary? I liked their chicken nuggets before they were 100% white meat chicken.

I am fat and know I wouldn't have any credibility talking to patients about losing weight.

Guys, I need to call up the posse. I just went ninja at Walgreen's and almost got the cops called on me. 😱

What happened?

I almost chewed out an 8 or 9 year old girl at the park today. 😉 I refrained, though.

Hey Molly, how's WoW going? 😀

I just got a new toy which I am super excited about (a portable XM satellite radio). It's batteries have to charge for eight hours before I can start playing with it. 🙁

Quick version: I got refills on my billions of scripts right before I moved from IC so I didn't have to deal with finding a new dr right away. (I get one month at a time, but have 6-12 refills on them). I got refills when I was visiting my folks in Ohio. So today, I go to the Walgreens here to get them. Turns out, you can't "transfer" prescriptions more than once since one of them is a "controlled substance" (Ambien). The pharmacy tech was a complete jerk and was 100% treating me like a junkie. I was really mad, things were getting heated, etc. He said I would need to contact a physician to get new scripts. I said, "I am a physician." He said, "Is that so." I said, "Yes." He asked for proof, which I of course didn't have on me. That just made it worse because he was acting like I was lying about being a doc to get drugs (99% of which are non-controlled heart meds).

End result: I don't have any medicine and run out in two days. 😡 I am going to write a complaint to Walgreens basically just about that guy's attitude, their policy, and treating me like a junkie for absolutely no reason.

Oh my gosh, that completely sucks Beary! What a stupid little jerk. I've had similar problems with Walgreens. I switched to Savon and they have always been wonderful.
