Wow, and I thought my Modern Architecture next semester was edgy. Is second semester of senior year too late to transfer to your or mushy's school?

Probably not. You'd probably have to stick around for 2 more years to get your new major courses completed (I doubt they will accept your current credits for junior/senior level).

My roommates couldn't help but laugh at the the course title. I wish I could've taken astrology, too. There are a bunch of classes like this at UF. I guess one of the few good things about going to a school with 50k+ kids.

Although in my last semester I took Effective Career Management and The Legal Environment of Business. By far my two favorite non-science classes.

Hi all...ok, I guess the best question to ask is: Who, after this week, will NOT be back in class? Tomorrow is going to go by way too fast! I know I will be looking at the clock trying to suck every last second out of every last minnute of the last day of freedom. :meanie:
ohhhhhh.. you'll love every minute of it!

I had a very surreal moment back around Feb when I sat in physics class and thought to myself "I'm in a PHYSICS class. What the hell am I doing in a PHYSICS class?" And I loved it anyway.

What does she hate about it.

She was the type of person in college who was involved with so many things at such a high level, EC's were basically her life and she was very dedicated to them. She was not a typical pre-med in the way that she didn't really care about gpa/mcat. The were obviously good enough to get her in, but she didn't focus on them like a lot of people do. I think she is just having a hard time realizing that studying is now her job 24/7

my girlfriend had her first real lecture today and claims she hates med school already 🙁 she is already talking about dropping out if she continues to hate it and all she can talk about is how she is going to fail out. the funny thing is, she was so excited and confident when she was accepted. is this normal?

I am sorry to hear it, but yes it is TOTALLY normal. Hang in there.

I wanted to take gym class called "Inrto to Fly Fishing" that was taught by this world renowned fly fisherman. The class was so hard to get into that even as a senior I could not get into it - you basically had to be a super senior 🙁

it's just so frustrating because she keeps questioning her desire for it - a desire that i know she has. she is not the typical gunner type of pre-med and she is apparently surrounded by them and i think it's really shaking her confidence.

yeah I have my classes 11-12:15 and 5:30-6:45, so I have to run to the office in between.

jealous of everyone's organic setups. we have 3 tests (150 pts each) and a final (250 pts) and that's IT.

we had a 1 quiz and 1 exam per month and the final was worth like an insane amount of points. we got a separate grade for the 6 hours a week we spent in lab hell.....i've never heard of take home stuff in organic--that's sweet

ME!!! I have at least 1 year off. If I get into med school for '07, I start probably a year from now. :meanie: I worked hard for 3 years to graduate a year short. The dividends are coming in folks!

I think she'll get used to the workload and make more time. I think at each level of education, you learn to deal with the amount of work differently. When you do, you realize you should have a little time for yourself and own interests. I hope she doesn't drop out.

Sounds like the Sports Econ Lab at my school which consists of discussing sports trivia at a bar with a professor over a few pints. If you aren't a senior, don't even bother trying to get in.

well she's definitely gonna have to study her ass off. but it sounds like a normal reaction to me. if she puts the work in then she has absolutely nothing to worry about

if it makes you feel better, you I can pretty much summarize my existence in one sentence:

"Hi, my name is Fe. I am 22 years old, unemployed, and living with my parents"

no OChem lab this semester- the school only offers 1 semester of lab, to be taken with OC II. and I think it is a separate grade... in physics, lab gets rolled into the final class grade.

I think she is just over-reacting a little. Hopefully it's just an initial freak out and things get better.

blah, just sit down one day and start writing. the beginning is probably the hardest part but once you get it going just keep writing. you could always throw stuff out or stick stuff in later.

The sad thing is...I know exactly what I will write. I just don't feel like it. My transcript is still in the mail so I wouldn't even be put in line for verification...

I'll do it tomorrow. I promise.
