how you doing girl? I miss chats, I am so out of touch with people.

I know what you mean. Every time I see that you are logged on to AIM you are never actually there! How have you been? Talked your parents out of this crazy 1ft canoeing excursion? Apparently, they have never been canoeing before. How about tubing? If they have at least been tubing before they will know that one foot of water isn't enough to float much of anything!

Well I had a fun morning. 🙂 Went swimming with my girls, my friend, and her kids.

My older daughter threw a complete tantrum when we left. I had to carry her away kicking and screaming. I was laughing at her about it and kind of rolling my eyes and another mom smiled at me and said "I've been there." Much better than that rude glares and judging looks where you know they are thinking "What an awful child - she must have no discipline." That's soooo not the case. I dare anyone to take that girl and get her to stop having tantrums when she doesn't get her way.

A funny story about her - when she was less than 12 hours old, she had her picture taken in the newborn nursery at the hospital. The lady taking the picture - who does this with 20-30 babies a day, every day said about my daughter - "Wow, this one has a temper." You could tell at not even an entire day old that she was going to be fiesty! That's my girl ..... 🙄

It's been a fun day, though. Both the girls got baths (because they smelled like a pond) and are sleeping. We're having pizza for dinner with my friend because my husband is going to be gone until close to midnight tonight so she's keeping me company. Fun stuff!

That sounds like so much fun! I have a fighting chance to be out of here before 9 tonight I think. Maybe 8 if I really really hurry. 😀 I won't know what to do with myself!

Go to pharmacy, get some food, play WoW, chat with randomites. 👍

Then go to bed early. 😴

*converses with self*

Just hit that darn 20 second rule. Maybe that's a sign I should get back to the prostates.

I really hate prostates. Tomorrow there is a hysterectomy on the schedule! (Rare in the VA population). Will be my first uterus. Also there is a kidney tomorrow. I don't mind kidneys too much.

I hate prostates and colons. Livers are pretty good. Amputations are the worst. Even just of a toe. I hate that.

Don't you mean prostRates?

Sorry, there was a thread on mommd a few days ago where I read that. Cracked me up.

One good thing about the VA beary - no placentas!!! 😀

Yeah, woohoo for no placentas!!! Though my hatred of placentas does not reach that of the colon or the amputation.

Prostrate is hilarious. We say that all the time. I actually have gotten in the habit of saying it and sometime am afraid I will say that when I am talking to a clinician. I am sure that will give them great confidence in their pathologist.

Pizza is a solid.

Don't even talk to me about my diet. 😉 That's been thrown out the window today. I'm getting back on the dieting wagon tomorrow.

I have totally given up on dieting. I don't even care anymore. It is way far down on my list of things to fix.

Pizza totally is a solid. But when I do eat lunch at the VA that is the only thing I ever eat, since that is the only edible thing at the VA cafeteria. So I am sort of sick of pizza.

Wow, I didn't realize it was possible to get sick of pizza! 😱

My father-in-law had "prostrate cancer" according to him a couple years ago. Took that sucker out and all is fine with him now.

oxeye - busy day for you 😉

And yes, bold = donor status. Beary needs ot check her "membership status" in the user CP menu.

It has been, thanks. And sorry I didn't respond to your PM - I will tonight. 😀

I am a donor, but not bold! *cries* (That's ok, I'll get over it. 😉 )

Was it anterior or superior, right or left, apex mid or base? What was the Gleason grade? Any perineural or angiolymphatic invasion? :meanie:

I can do prostrates in my sleep already. Lots of prostratectomies here at the VA.

Countdown of what is left:
1) gallbladder
2) melanoma wide excision
3) some weird heme cell block thingie, will be fast
4) some recuts on the head/neck case from yesterday.

Oh yeah, gonna be out of here pretty soon.

Does anyone know how to get rid of the automatic update thing that starts a countdown on restarting your computer for you?

Not much, how are you? I got your email. Sorry I haven't yet responded. It has been another on of those days. This week has been nuts.

Sorry been a nutty week. NP on the email - I am so behind on my email it is out of control.

Doing fine. OK going to go ninja pathologist and chop up these four thingies and move my behind out of this joint.

LOL, sorry I didn't really want to ask my FIL the details about his prostrate cancer. 😉

My MIL was gross though. She wanted to keep it and put in in a jar on display at their house as a reminder of the "good old days" if he ended up impotent after the surgery. She actually had this conversation with me .... :shudders:

My husband said that if you set it up so you have to manually install the updates it won't try to restart it automatically for you. It only does the automatic restart in "5 ... 4... 3 ... 2 ... 1 .... " if you have it set to automatically download and install updates.

At least that's what I remember him telling me, but I couldn't be completely wrong. 😉

That's hilarious. She should have been a pathologist!

I have my old pacemakers. Not on display though, tucked away in a box. My mom said that when I woke up from getting my most recent one I was clutching onto my old one like it was a teddy bear or something. (I really wanted it, and was afraid they would throw it away. They just gave it to me while I was still asleep. )

went lookin around for this option and changed it so I dont think it will piss me off in the future.

Thx for pointing it out!!

At the Heart Hospital at TMC they have this huge pacemaker display with pacemakers going all the way back to some of the first models. It was really cool!!

that's ok. Just worried about you 😀

as for donor status, if you check your group memberships, you should have a donor status. A few people had this issue and that was the work around to fix it 😀

Has anyone been keeping up with the news and heard about that terror plot that occurred in Britain??? It makes one not even want to think about getting on a plane.

Luckily for us it's interview season! 😱

I know really!!!!! I used to love planes and flying, now I don't even want to think about traveling. I especially don't want to think about going to India after the fact that on 7/11 the same thing that occurred on 9/11 here occurred in my home city. Apparently Osama's next goal is to cease Kasmir from India and make it Pakistan's, but even pakistani govt is against it and actually aided in the arrest of the terrorists. Thank God the Pakistani Govt was on top of it.

I'm glad I decided to drive out to NJ now. Else I'd have to sit in a 6 hr security session next week.

Road trips are soooooooooooo much more fun anyways. You can keep the radio blasting and cruise a long and get to see interesting different things along the way. My brother did a few road trips when he was in college. One trip consisted of going from Florida to colorado. He used to have sooooo much fun doing them cuz they would go with his fraternity.

also the spain bombings was on the 11th too 🙁

What is the significance of the date 11th??? I wonder if that means something. It seems to be a general pattern.

Originally I thought the plot 9/11 had something to do with it spelling out 911 the US emergency number. But now I'm wondering if there's some other meaning behind the 11th as a date.

but 24 hrs of driving with 2 cats can get a little much. 😎 Now with gas prices hopefully it would go up that much.

A friend just came home from the UK last week, as well as I know someone who's hubby is over there right now and is coming home soon. 🙁 Its so scary.

The gridlock at the airports is astounding, not to mention the mounds upon mounds of discarded liquid tolietries. I can't even imagine the stress of trying to get back to India.

Yeah I agree on how scary it is. My parents friends were supposed to come in October from the UK and my dad was supposed to go in late fall to India. I wonder if either trip will happen now.

You know for about 20 secs after the London bombings everyone was wondering if it was the IRA. But then you realize the aim of the IRA was never to kill people but rather make a statement AND in catholicism suicide is still a cardinal sin so no way they would use suicide bombers.
