I don't think so. I decided to go golfing. I figure that is more of a calming and meditative activity rather than going to see SLJ shout at some snakes. I'll definitely see SoaP sometime though.
Wow ...... it's weird to see you with a different avatar!

Congrats!!!! You'll email me before you come right?

Sure thing. I am just trying to work out what time to come -- I have to reschedule some tests that are on the interview date they gave me, Oct 19-20.

I think I'll go see SoaP today!!! I know a few people who saw it lastnight and they said it was hilarious. Just leave your inside-critic at the door and enjoy it. It was sold out when he went and people just kept laughing.

Who wants to give me a random MCAT pimp question to determine whether or not I study or golf @ 4?

Explain penetrance and how it affects/relates to autosomal traits.

Edit: It's not worded well, but just try.

BrettBatchelor said:
Isn't that the frequency that the trait is exhibited in a population? I'll have to look that one up.

Penetrance is when it's shown phenotypically iirc. So for autosomal, reduced penetrance will make it look like the trait or disease skips generations.

Here's one for you guys....

A fishing boat is lying in the harbor. There is a rope ladder hanging over the side with its end touching the water. The rungs of the ladder are 1 yard apart and the tide is rising at 50 inches an hour.

At the end of 6 hours, how many of the rungs will be covered?

duodenum, jujuem, iliuem.

Spelling off for sure.
Most digestion occurs in the duodenum!
yay!

On second thought, let's do it jeapoardy style.

This digestive enzyme is primarily responsible for starch digestion in the mouth.

Depends on the boat being dry or wet docked....
Wet - None, boat would rise with tide.
Dry - 300 inches = 25 ft = 8 1/3 So 8 rungs covered.

Won't the boat just rise with the tide, too? Or am I not understanding what the ladder is tied to.

I believe it is what is alpha amylase!
actually i was thinking salivary amylase, though i realize it's a relatively ambiguous question.

I'm getting pissed off with UPS 😡 I want to go to Sonny's for some food, but I have to wait for this package. I can't leave it at the door because it's too much $$$. 😡

Whew! I was hoping you guys would say the boat would rise with the tide! Otherwise you'd have trouble!

Here's another one.... not MCAT-related but fun to keep you occupied!

Imagine you are driving a bus. When you start your trip there are an old lady named Johnson and a long-haired kid on the bus. At the first stop the lady leaves and a businessman enters. At the next stop Frankie, a young boy, enters with his little sister. Then three old ladies who have been shopping in the mall get on. After a short trip the long-haired kid leaves the bus and a man and lady enter. Paul with his dog Blue gets on, while Frankie and his sister get off, and, finally, the bus arrives at the bus station. What is the name of the bus driver?
