Ha!! I was looking through m friend's album of random paintings and pics that she had on facebook and the pic in your avatar was one of them.

She's an MS1 at USF COM and one of the coolest people I have come to know over the past 3 years.

Someone give me cliff notes of today's posts.

Discussions of pregnant men, Pluto losing planetary status, soap opera plastic surgeons, diabolical Sesame Street characters, and Randomite nicknames (both past and present).

Inbreeding is rampant in Pennsylvania.

In the north, it actually is

As far as applying to medical schools, being from PA SUCKS. Most of the schools, including Penn State, give very little in state preference (the highest in state is still under 50%), and the cheapest school in state is Penn State at 28K

Pa freaking hates on it's residents, it's bull****

Perfect example: Pitt, supposed to be a "state" school. 2007 MSAR says 101 OOS and 46 IS

If I went to PSU Med, I'd be massive. One too many factory visits.

hey brett where will you apply, since it's time to start thinking about that? Or does that totally depend on the MCAT like it did for me?

lawl!!! All FL med schools (4 MD) are pretty much 90%+. FSU is 100%!!!

Btw, I just wrote my PS. I e-mailed it to a few friends to go over. Took 30 minutes. 😳

I have a prelim list of around 30 schools.

Will be cut after scores come back. To generalize, its my state schools, good schools in the south/midwest and a few ivies thrown in.

 I saw that for Florida State.....100%!! That's amazing. I hate being from this state for that reason, it's like they hate you here and they hate you OOS. You come out of this process with an identity crisis

Which is more competitive, UK or UL?

Numbers wise, I think UK but also because the class size is smaller. I should get interviews to both regardless of my MCAT score. They have heavy in state preference and overall, the state isn't pumping out uber candidates.

yeah, florida is nice to its residents. 🙂

dont worry Fe, just because your home state doesnt favor its residents it doesnt mean you wont get into med school.
