Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's the thread!

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Congratulations to everyone who made Part 4 such a kickass thread!!!

And thank you to the ever generous, intelligent, lovely, and kind Nichole, who let me start the thread even though she won the last one. 🙂

You floridians might want to take a look at my Hurricane Ernesto Thread in the Lounge 🙁

Looks like it's going to go right through UF! LOL!

Morning everyone! The F1 race finished almost an hour ago. The number 2 Ferrari driver got his first win ever. 🙂 TONS of passing, great race.

I'm sure you're going to want to go somewhere and veg after all the planning and the big day. If you're looking beach, Caribbean is the way to go although mexico has some great places for less. I was looking at a great place in Cuba that was shot down by the hubby. No supporting commies 🙁

hahaha, i like him. 😀

But its a really nicely ranked place! Beautiful beaches, calm waters ...
Yes, yes. Money is bad (especially when a student)

There was a sale in his hometown at a furniture store that was closing. We were looking for new couch possibly, went down and found couch, loveseat, coffee table, and an end table. My cats love the couch so far 😎

Oh and A - you never know if this will come back to your area so be nice 😉

mushy i'm on GYN oncology these last 2 weeks. by far the 2 weeks of the rotation with the worst rep. if ernesto or whatever its called decides to dump a little rain on miami this week, bring it.

man, i was out of school for a week last year after wilma with no power in south florida. karma owes me one.... now, **** UF. :meanie: 😉

Dude, my apt in Gainesville was out of power because of two of those three biatch 'canes in '04. Power was out for 5 days both times!!! I had to study for an exam with a flashnight at night man!

Of course campus had power since they run their own plant or something. So the exam was never delayed, lol!

98% of FPL customers in dade county lost power. 98 PERCENT. 😱

it was crazy, you could actually see stars in the sky at night for the first time in god knows how long over someplace someplace.

I haven't gone to mass in forever

you're going to hell

no i'm not assshole

we all are, so at least we'll have a good time once we get there.

I'm pretty much a "Chreaster" or "Eastmas" (whatever your preference is) churchgoer now. And weddings and funerals of course. And agree with megboo and whoever else talked about not liking the business practices that are going on... and the refusal to admit wrong-doing of certain clergy.

How are ya feeling?
actually a bit better this morning, finally!

I had one of the ER docs look at it yesterday and told him that my friend (who he knows) had told me "Motrin, Cepacol spray, and salt water gargles", and since it was right next door to Walgreen's, I prescribed myself Coldstone Creamery that day to help soothe it. he looked at me and said "well don't prescribe that too often." 😡

@$$hole.

First time I really saw the stars like that was up in Union County (Lake Butler) about 30 mins North of UF. My friend and I went to his parents place. They live on about 700 acres (split in about 10 lots with each having one of their famliy members). No city or nothing. You could see every star, airplane, shooting stars, wow. Incredible.

Speaking of the stars, I'm thinking about going to KSC today to see the space shuttle launch. Not sure if it will launch today, I have to see the weather predictions. If I go, I will take pics.

just saw this in the someplace someplace herald, sorry dude:

Shuttle launch scrubbed until Tuesday

By MARTIN MERZER
[email protected]

CAPE CANAVERAL - The launch of shuttle Atlantis will not occur until at least Tuesday to give engineers more time to inspect the spaceship for damage that might have been caused by a lightning strike, NASA officials told employees this morning.

At the same time, Hurricane Ernesto -- which appears to have Florida in its sights -- could cause additional complications and delays.

The launch of Atlantis and a crew of six astronauts led by Brent Jett Jr. of Fort Lauderdale had been scheduled for today, but managers for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration said they needed extra time to inspect for damage from a powerful lightning bolt that struck Launch Pad 39B around 2 p.m. Friday.

Atlantis is docked to that pad and was undergoing final launch preparations.

The bolt hit a lightning arrester designed to absorb the blow, but engineers saw some indications that one component on the pad and one on the shuttle might have sustained damage. They decided to conduct more inspections of the shuttle's sensitive electronics, just in case.

''We know just enough to know that we don't know enough to press on with a launch situation,'' said LeRoy Cain, a NASA launch manager.

He said the bolt -- equal to 100,000 amps of electrical current -- might have been the strongest ever to strike a NASA launch pad.

Asked to describe that amount of electricity in layman's terms, Cain said simply: ``It's a lot of current.''

He said the inspections -- delayed somewhat by stormy weather that moved through the Kennedy Space Center on Saturday and threatened to return today -- could take several days, and any repairs that might be needed would require more time.

they are nice when you're sitting in your 17th floor apt overlooking someplace someplace. otherwise, they suck when you're caught on foot in one or in traffic.
true.

and they're REALLY nice when you live on the 11th floor of your dorm, and you have an L-shaped loft, and the roommate who is a complete and utter evil bitch and scared to death of lightning has the bed that runs across the length of the window.

muahahahahahahahaha

anyone ever see "tears of the sun" with Bruce Willis? 🙁 Way too emotional for me. Such a hard movie for me to see anything in which human suffering. Just makes me appreciate what I have that much more but along the same time my heart aches to help those who need it.
