Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

I have to leave in 30 minutes for my stupid psychology class - I have a headache and want to stay home. And I would stay home and just get the notes from a friend but we're watching a 1948 movie that I imagine I would have a hard time finding in a video store to watch on my own.

And yes, the movie is going to be on our first test. 🙄

So I had a termite guy coming out at 10am for an inspection. Called 15 mins ago asking what the deal was and the man directed me to my technician. Which is fine. SO I call the technician and leave a message. 15 min no word. I have an appt with my professor and then I have to leave for class. Hubby won't be home for another 30 mins which is why I'm trying to coordinate with technician but its hard to do when he doesn't call back 😡 *sigh*

:laugh: Stats for dummies! What is the class really called? I know there were some pretty easy stat classes where I went in the psych and econ departments.

I've never had a pop quiz in college. I did have a couple in middle school and high school, but they never counted for grades I think. Some were just done under the conditions making you think it would be graded, but it would just end up being a peer-review so you would put you 100% effort in it. Other times it would be extra credit. 🙂

I'm glad we didn't have this in college. I don't ever study as we go in class. I wait til the day of or before to study. For biochem and law, I had to start studying 2-3 days in advance because of the amount of material.

Funny you say that, it's the same way at UF. One of our better colleges within the univ, but the majority of the classes are pretty easy (at least for me). I had some friends that found the classes hard, but I think it was because they heard it was easy and just didn't put in the little effort required. The class avg was still around a 75.

That's what I had! Thanks for reminding me. My o-chem professor would give us pop quizzes in class, but it would just be to see if we understood the material. No grading.

I have pop quizes in my Biochem class this semester. They're really really easy though. I'm contemplating buying a laptop early just so I'll have something to do while I'm forced to be in class. 😴

I bet the average will still be low. We also get a full page front and back cheat sheet too. 🙄 Why don't they just give the answer key to us too.

I just sit in the back and talk. Probably rude but who doesn't know mean, median and mode?

I think we got a cheat sheet for business stats, too. I honestly don't think I got less than a 97 on each exam (1 extra credit question, too). I also didn't learn much in college. Is this why? Probably.

I'm going to use my 7499th post to rant about my optics class.
1) It is a tough class compounded by the fact the teacher is new.
2) We spend a whole class (75 minutes) deriving things only to be told as we walk out, we don't need to know this.
3) So far 98% of my notes are math derivations.
4) We have pop quizzes which we don't know how much math derivation will be needed.
5) Its my first class of the morning and since I am on TTh only, it sets the miserable pace for the rest of the day.
6) I have to take atleast one "bathroom" break due to boredom.

These conclusions lead me to believe I should have stuck with memorizing biology or done a biz school major.

I'd like to thank all of my fellow randomites for helping me acheive this goal. I'd also like to that any fellow werewolf players that I have voted to lynch.
Also, studying for the MCAT like a crazy neurotic person helped pad the post count. Lastly, Pre-allo was my first home but I have since ridden off into the sunset to finer pastures of the MCAT forum.
