Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

uhhhh.. doubt they want me there.

but if you need anything fixed around the house, Charlie's your guy! he gets bored up here so I come up with projects for him to do at my place. he gets a little cash, a little something to do, and I get my house repairs done for cheap. it's win-win!

with this level of spanish you will be taking histories and translating for classmates VD, no joke. youll get better as you move through med school, im serious.

Hmmm I'm actually constantly on the look out for people like that because my dad will need lots of little things done around the house once I'm gone... like fixing a leaky sink, etc.

At the clinic they were laughing at me because I can ask a patient if they have diabetes, how often they test their blood sugar, their medications, I can explain blood tests (ie. PSA, which was interesting to explain, Occult Blood, another fun one, Lipids, CMP) but for the life of me... if they try to tell me about their kid's school play - I give them the biggest dumbest white girl look imaginable. 🙁

right after I got my new car, I came home and he was in his garage and came out to look at it. then he said "want to see what I'm working on?"

he was making coasters. lots of them, out of little bits of formica and halved wine corks obtained from someone else in the subdivision (who apparently has a drinking problem). His plan was to sell them down in TX this winter to make a little cash. I immediately recognized the need for me to find something at my place for him to do.

Yesterday he fixed my siding ($30), and next week I'll have him install a wall-mounted hose reel and put the handles on my kitchen cabinet doors. 🙂
