Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

I got a very nice email from UAB today saying that I am "an outstanding applicant" and that they look forward to communicating with me further as they go through the process of interviewing applicants. Is this a good thing? Do you think they send it to everyone? T, did you apply there?

yeah, i think it sounds pretty good. i was wondering how long it takes them to do their screening process. i have only seen a few posts here on SDN about their secondary being out (and none from MSTP applicants). so it's good that they're communicating (this is the first i've heard from them)

Kudos to both nikki & mushy! I can get my study on every other day of the week but I've never been able to master studying on Fridays. I am jealous of your self-control!

Seriously, I don't really feel worthy of getting all these interviews. I am completely convinced that there are selection factors that can crush the MCAT because my MCAT is not all that great (It's fine to me, but crappy by SDN standards) I am way below NYU's median but hey, i'll take it 🙂 I'm really excited to see what NYU is all about because I was accepted there for undergrad but went with PSU (which was probably the best decision I ever made)

wow.. didn't expect the MV thing to take off quite that well! well that's it, girls- any time the boys make a nasty "women 🙄 " comment, we flood them. FLOOD them I tell you, with hotties like MV.

that said, I need to get the **** out of the hospital and head home. later!

I'm doing great, but I am really busy right now. I worked this week at my Uncle's furniture store (out on the trucks delivering) so I am really tired, and I have been getting things together for this new job. I'm also trying to get ready for my first interview (next wed at PSU)

Not that you're not busy also or anything 😉 Excited? Nervous? Both?

Wow, that sounds like hard work. I hope you get time to take a break and really enjoy your football this weekend!

I'm definitely both excited and nervous. Only two more days until class!

word, i'll second that! Fe, even if your MCAT is below their median, I don't think anyone could miss your incredible GPA. Feel good about those interviews...you deserve them!!! 🙂
