Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Whoa Brett - I'm going to jump on the train and tell you to go to the dr too. Hang in there.
I know, I know...the couch is just so far from the door and the car from the door and the door from the office and the pharmacy from the office and the pharmacy from home.

Being on a T Th only schedule basically means if I miss a day, I'm screwed.

i really wanna make pasta with vodka sauce....i have the vodka i just need the cream

i've never puked from stress--although i can see that happening in the very near future

I think it is really interesting how people react differently to stress. Like I'm a puker and an insomniac. I NEVER get headaches or muscle aches, which I know a lot of people get when they're stressed.

its actually a really good vermont sharp cheddar

as for ketchup... that's a given. i think i'll add the hot sauce.

y'all need to follow the lili technique. eff it all and just eat.

I get the triple whammie: nausea w/ occassional vomiting, body aches, & insomnia when I'm REALLY stressed 😡 , but 1 or 2 of the 3 if just moderately stressed.

You know, I didn't have much a problem like that for the MCAT, but after reading up on the USMLE 1, 2, and 3, I feel like it will have its way with me. 🙁

Step 1 is stressful. 2 and 3 aren't as bad. (Though I am sure you will hear some whining for me over the next month about Step 3. 😳 )

Stupid DVR needs to load up the schedule for 8:00 PM +

I know it takes a while but I want to setup my recording.

When we had DVR from Brighthouse, that **** would crash at least once a day. If you were recording something at that team, even if it had already recorded 1/2 of it, it would lose it all.

-1 for those ****ty DVRs.

Is 2 or 3 the one that has 5 testing locations to have "fake" patients? Of course that's also after the 9+ hours of testings. :barf:

That's Step 2. Step 2 has 2 parts - CS and CK. CS is the one with the fake patients. That's pass/fail. CK is a whole day multiple choice knowledge exam.

Step 3 is a TWO DAY exam. :barf: The first day is a bunch of multiple choice questions. The second day is simulated clinical cases (on the computer) where you order tests, get results, formulate a diagnostic plan, etc. Ugh.

This makes the MCAT a pre-school intelligence test in that case. :barf:

Path should have a lower passing score on CS. No need for that stuff.

100% agreed.

Pathologists should NOT have to take Step 3 either! We're not clinicians and don't pretend to be. You think there's gonna be any pathology questions on there? Big negative on that one. 😡

my sister was a days fan. the whole luke and laura story made me a fan back in elementary school

I can stop watching days for years and still be able to pick up on the story line....they really drag those storylines out......and the flashbacks...how many times will they do flashbacks

Why do rads (non-interven) have to do a year of IM? 🙁

I have no idea. Doesn't make any sense to me. I would have considered radiology if they didn't have an intern year. Though, all radiology residents do quite a bit of interventional stuff anymore. Interventional radiology is taking over EVERYTHING.
