Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Ha, I still have Duke and Vandy to do. Still putting the finishing touches on Northwestern. But I'm at work and was in a fume hood when the cannons went off.

This was the worst experience I've had by far...

In research, I was doing extractions with ether in the hood. I did it frequently at that time and we were falling a little behind schedule. The grad student wanted me to do it even when the hood didn't work one time. 😱 The entire lab smelled of ether so bad. The guy who runs the lab came in and said "wtf are you doing, can't you smell the ether!?" to me. LOL! He said we should open the windows, but the windows on the 5th floor were sealed shut by our school for some stupid reason years ago, lol!!!!

Cranford?

how many guys are actually taking this class?

how many guys are actually taking this class?

~5/35 (reversed from what I'm used to in engineering  ). I'm only in it for the easy A as you can resubmit your papers as many times as you'd like.

Btw, excellent suggestion Will. 👍 👍

ok, I'm at one of my offices. the building is a duplex, we rent 1/2, and a psychiatrist has the other 1/2, and is only here on Fridays. I'm in his office using his receptionist's computer right now. THE SAME PERSON (thank you, Caller ID), has now just called for the 10th TIME in the last 15 MINUTES.

Dude, I'm sorry they forgot to forward the phones to the other office, but TAKE A FU^$ING HINT!

I was going to say, this is all total old-school chick lit.

Typhoon and Sherlock Holmes are the only respites from all this ancient feminazi prose.

👍

i just got a bag of macs at the grocery store...they were on sale...not as good as the ones by the side of the road where my mom grew up, but they will certainly do for boston. I think i will make some applesauce this week. yum!

LOL!!! Mcintosh apples!

That reminds me of an old episode of Get the Picture on GAS. Mike O'Mally asked "name 3 types of apples."

The kid said Red Delicious, McIntosh, and then was stuck.

He said "cranapple." I kid you not. It was dead silent except the camera man or somebody of the crew laughing their ass off, HAHAHAH!!! I was crying of so much laughter, ahahahha.

Hey I just wanted to say that on the topic of mice and roaches in the house, the best exterminator is to adopt a cat. The cat will destroy anything moving that's smaller then itself. LOL 😀 😀 😀 😀

Ok I gotta go to study. TTYL.

Hey Guju!!!!

Bye Guju!!!

All this apple talk is making me want to eat some kind of apple dessert. Oh, one thing I can't stand, though, is candy apple...yuck!

i know, i'd love to get a cat...but my bf is definitely not keen on the idea (especially for the purposes of killing mice).

thanks for the suggestion, though, guju! :luck: with the studying!

hahahahha, that sounds totally like something you'd see on one of those shows.

My dog is always eating grass outside whenever she has an upset stomach so we got her this container of grass from Petsmart but she won't eat it 😡 This dog is way picky.

What are you guys gonna have for dinner?
funny you mention this. Someone just invited me over for dinner. Tofu and split pea soup. *I hope she's not reading this!!* :barf: I might go to class now. I was thinking of cutting and just reading on my own and getting the notes from a friend. But that dinner combination ... I'm a meat and pasta girl 😳 I can't eat foo-foo food.

You can buy grass from Petsmart? Maybe I should try that with my dogs. They are always eating my lawn.

Unfortunately it also makes them puke when they do it. I wonder if the Petsmart grass would make them puke too?

Will someone tell my daughter to take a nap so I can get some work done? She's walking around blowing raspberries.

Ahh, the joy of being 13 months old. You are so easily amused.

tofu is excellent 👍

Grades have been posted for the 2 exams I took on Thursday. An A and a C (yikes!) I am still sick the C didn't help matters.

Damn! Damn! Damn!

The class average was 71.1 ... but she said that she was "happy" with the "high grades." Um...since when does a class average of 71.1 constitute "high grades"? Gee, this is not looking good. 😱

Yup they sell grass....the grass looks more like wheatgrass, but my dog won't eat it...she like the grass at the park...with longer leaves..... go figure 🙄
