Man, I'm hoping Pudge will get another championship. That guy is awesome. I remember after he left the Marlins in 2003, they said he pulled up to the Tigers' stadium after signing. The dude rolled up in a brand new Bentley tinted out as fans stood seeing who was in it. Little did they know that 3 years later, they'd be in a World Series...

Pudge should be called Not So Pudgy Since He Stopped Using Steroids... but, he was the biggest reason the team made the turn around... they wouldn't be able to get anyone else to come to Detroit if he didn't sign first.

STL or the Mets will go down easy next week

Charles Shaw has a wikipedia entry:

Charles Shaw is an American brand of "extreme value" wine produced in California.

Wow, $2 and beating out 2,300? That's pretty damn good. How do they turn out a profit? That company must've owned that land in Cali for a long ass time.

For some reason, the new trend with mansions is a private vineyard. wtf

If the Tigers can win the series and if Michigan goes on and wins...that'd be a pretty cool thing. NBA, MLB, and NCAAF champions in a short period. Just do something with NCAA basketball and those Lions. 😉 I don't even know about NHL.

P.S. The only thing we're missing is an NCAAF championship. Since Jan 2003: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAAB champions and NCAA baseball finalist. 🙂 So angry at the Gators and Auburn TIGERS 🙁

well... even if they get 50 cents a bottle they turn a nice profit considering people (college students in particular) buy them by the cases

IIRC, there wasn't branding like there is today, but there were already certain areas and growers known for having better wine than others.

Oh, wait, I'm thinking of the Romans. Something called Falernian wine was supposed to be the best.

I have no idea about the Greeks.
