A few ground rules. Everything you post must be RANDOM and more importantly, only peripherally related to the MCAT. See my example post below. I now await Beary's shirtless pic of Carl Edwards. C'mon Beary, A-man is dying to see it. 😀

This is Ana's example:

PW adn beary! I'm glad you are having a great time!

*waves to all randomites*

I got a prescription here at home that wasn't my usual dosage and now i'm feelig like crap and hardly slept last night. Im not happy. 🙁

I caught up on my TV last night... up to date on Lost: pretty a much a filler episode this week. Glad I got to watch last weeks for the first time too, so I don't feel completely jaded.

The Office is getting better and better...
My Name is Earl I don't think I'll be watching anymore...
Grey's Anatomy I just can't get in to so that will be the last episode I'll watch...

I still have 4-5 episodes of The Wire to catch up on and the rest of the HBO schedule, but that will take a time commitment I can't give right now

Anyways... have a good day guys 🙂
i could have sworn i was sitting next to jason lee in grimaldi's (pizza place in brooklyn) about 2 weeks ago.
i didnt say anything because i wasnt 100% sure it was him and also because i'm sure it's annoying to keep getting asked if you were so and so

thanks sweetie, i just read through the governments 192 page screening guidelines for primary care. took me an hour and half to skim though the pdf and read all the summaries (thank god for summaries) but i feel much better now that i did that. i heard that stuff is big on the fam med shelf and besides, thats what my family med oral is only going to be about - screening in primary care.

ok, goodnight.... i'm gonna look over some geriatrics before i pass out, i'm gonna try to get 3 hours of sleep. the shelf isnt for a grade so screw it, i just have to pass. the geriatrics final is worth 30% of the geri grade though so that has priority and is what i'm going to be cramming the most in the morning. did i mention it wasnt multiple choice? blah...... my life sucks so bad right now.

ok, let me shut up before i keep rambling and wasting time, night nichole!

ohh...not multiple choice--scary. but i'm sure you were surprised about how much you knew. let us know how it went😍

unexpected perk of going to work today:
we have a resident who has to give a talk on Tuesday morning about a subject in which I'm well-versed. she's very anxious, I happen to work Tuesdays as well.. Voila! I was drafted by our attending to co-present to all of the residents!

can you say..................... padding my application????? 😀 :hardy:

Very nice, woot! Is this a psych or a peds resident?

If you would like you can come talk to the Michigan path HOs as well! :meanie:

Hey guys -

I loved, loved, loved Michigan. It's by far my favorite of the schools I"ve been to. But I am so not getting my hopes up after Vandy broke my heart. I'm totally prepared not to get in... but man if I did, this would be one happy Ana!

BTW, don't believe anything Mr. T says about me and the anatomy lab. Lies, all lies. :meanie:

Ana, glad you enjoyed it! Did you meet up with Beary, Type A, and T? Vandy turned you down? 🙁 I would pick Michigan over it anyday, sorry Durden. 🙂 Keep your head up Ana!

I got my pics developed today and mailing them to schools tomorrow. Sent a letter to UF to release my LORs, but it will take 2 weeks to process. :barf:

did you take out some bodies? or parts of bodies? you're supposed to put those back, you know....

ugh 2 weeks...that sucks. you'll be fine though. my school told me it would be 6-8 weeks from when they get our first list of schools, but then they ended up finishing and uploading my letter about 4 days after i sent them my list!

also, as far as pictures go...i started with two nice passport photos ($10), and have been using my nice scanner/printer and glossy photo paper for the rest. call me cheap, but the pictures come out really nice.

I just went to CVS with my camera's memory card and paid $5 for 4 4x6" pics and 16 wallet size (2x3"). I used a headshot with a shirt and tie on in my house, lol.

did you cut your hair? just wondering.

Not really. I took scissors and cut off about an inch or two myself. I keeps the costs lows. 😎 I'll send you a pic, brb.

Probably one of the greatest investments I've ever made is buying a $20 set of clippers. I keep my hair somewhat short (I use the longest attachment for the top of my head and the shorter ones for the side/back), and it works great. After 1 or 2 cuts, it's already paid for itself.

I used to get a hair cut every month when I kept my hair short. Haven't paid for a cut in 3 years to the month. 👍 That's close to $400 saved. 😀

Haha, same here. Sometimes I'd try to hold out for 6 weeks or so, but my hair would grow so fast, and it's pretty thick, so it would get annoying.

Now I can cut it whenever I want, and keep it from getting any longer than necessary. Even with the "inexpensive" barber I used to go to in high school ($9 a cut), I'm now saving over $100 a year on haircuts!

wow i wish i can cut my own hair

I'll probably stop by one of our family friend's salons and get it trimmed better. It's free, but I haven't really ever gone to them, lol.

I had to get rid of the beard and go with a goatee (hate it) for now. 🙁

:luck: and 😍

*hides hand behind back*

No I didn't take a thing. :meanie:

glad the interview went well! I was thinking of you and T today! :luck:

No kidding .... I spend $100 on my hair every 3 months. 🙁 And I really should get it done more often (roots end up getting long) but I can't justify the cost.
😳 I spend that or a bit under every 6-8 weeks. He keeps me on a strict schedule.

peds resident, on adol. med. She had to change topics, so on a whim they decided to go with teaching the residents how to understand and make a psych diagnosis, specifically axis V. apparently my job will be discussing the importance of coordination of care between medical personnel (pediatricians, NPs, psychiatrists) and ancillary professionals (therapists, dietitians, etc), and to elaborate on why it's so important for all team members to know the full 5-axis diagnosis, not just part of it.

hey everyone just dropping in to say hi really quickly! how my day went:

1. fam med shelf exam - wow, nasty. wasnt for a grade, just have to pass. THANK GOD.
2. geriatrics final - 30% of geri grade, i think i did decent
3. geriatrics delirium exam - just had to passed, worst comes to worst i just remediate but hopefull not
4. geriatrics dementia exam - no grade, just had to pass. think i did ok.
5. geriatrics oral exam - no grade, just had to pass. think i did ok.
6. fam med oral - no grade, just had to pass. my examiner was the clerkship director though and he gave me HONORS and said i was one of the better examinees today. sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. 😎

so there you go, 6 different tests today. only 1 counted for a grade which was the geri final. i hope i dont have to retake any of them again, having that many exams in a day is nuts. at least i finished it off with honors for my fam med oral which is cool, the clerkship director told me that if i ever need a rec letter just to ask which is awesome.

ok..... enough of me....... too long of a post, sorry guys i'm running on caffeine and carbs right now
