south beach has ... character. like most high-intensity tourist spots, it's overpriced and outrageous, but can be great fun.

i really liked it. It reminded me of Madrid and New York...ppl who've lived there a while say it's more like a Carribbean nation than part of Florida.

But if you plan to drive out of South Beach, you can find more to do, too. Once you leave Vegas, not much out there for hundreds of miles.

Vegas was fun as hell.....we went this past January.....drove to the Grand Canyon (South Rim) and returned to vegas the same day.....it was freezing and the drive as tiring as hell!!! I wanna go back in the spring to do some hiking and try white water rafting.

Heh, I did white water rafting when I was like 9 y.o. in NC. It was fun as hell!

depends on what you mean by "see"

this summer we saw a skeezy 50 something man with a pink bikini and dollar bills hanging out when we were on the beach part.

when he caught us staring he started to dance. it was something.

i'm betting the bikini wearers are somewhat more attractive in LV.

Laying out on the beach bores the hell out of me 😴 my husband loves it so we kinda have to compromise. I'd rather tour.....but I wouldn't mind going to South Beach just to see.

I can get behind going down just to see it, but I doubt I'd want to stay.

I'm a road trip kind of gal. LOVE them. Or going to new big cities. Boston and SF are high on my list of next places I want to explore.

went to DC this year with TypeA. it was fun. this year I think more Randommes can come b/c it's a little more centralized for us.

I think it's 6/7-10? it's out in the northern 'burbs, but there would be time to get into the city in the evenings.

I went to Chicago and visited my cousins who lived there and because my grandma was in town.

Here's the pic my cousin took. It was right below the Michigan ave bridge (not in picture). The right side is the Trump buliding under construction. I dont' remember the name of the bridge you see open.

so be is definitely not for everyone, if you like just chilling on the beach, cafe's, skating, jet skiing, dancing etc... its great. sometimes you just want to chill for a few days like that and then its worth it. renting the jet ski's is expensive but totally worth it if you've never ridden one.

I've only been on a jet-ski once and that was rented. Fun time. 👍

One of my friends has a couple here at his house, but the damn things are always broke! 😡 They're literally over 10 years old. So garbage is what it really is.
