Work is going better. I have endocarditis which totally sucks, but the antibiotics are definitely working though they are making me puke constantly. That is a summary of my life right now. 😉

Ha, I'm getting to the point where I know what endocarditis is. 😉 I'm sorry to hear that, beary. It sounds miserable. How long do you have to take them? I'm glad work is going better though. I think that maybe you just had a couple of crazy rotations.

I'm doing pretty well, crazy busy. I start seeing patients this week already. Crazy, huh??? Imagine that. 😉

I'm on IV ceftriaxone (2 hrs/day, except weekends LOL) and oral clindamycin. IV for approximately 2 weeks and oral for approximately 6 weeks. Some of it depends on following blood cultures, white count, temperature, etc. Probably will have to go in and surgically debride around the pacemaker pocket, which is not a big surgery (one night in hosp, maybe even outpt). I would still like to avoid it though if possible. But as you know antibiotics don't do well with abscesses.

Wow, we didn't start seeing real patients until second semester of M2! Is this an outpatient clinic? What kinds of pts? Are you going to be taking histories and stuff?

I can't wait to see Arkansas ranked tomorrow. I was a bit worried with who would take 'Bamas ranked status from last season since the SEC always has 1/2 the conference ranked. It was only 5 of 12 this year. Now 6 of 12 will be ranked like it should be. 🙂

What an amazing day for the SEC. It's predicted that the Gators should move up from #5 to #2. I'll wait for tomorrow, but it is a bit unfortunate that Auburn lost. Now we have to deal with an angry team next week.
