A few ground rules. Everything you post must be RANDOM and more importantly, only peripherally related to the MCAT. See my example post below. I now await Beary's shirtless pic of Carl Edwards. C'mon Beary, A-man is dying to see it. 😀

This is Ana's example:

My, factually, better examples 😀 :

the only thing I know about hcg - going up = good, going down = bad, going up way too fast = lots of babies or some weird molar pregnancy stuff

Yeah, this talk I'm giving is about the weird molar pregnancy stuff. This hCG is different. I had no idea. (Not different enough to be seen in routine chemistry, but different and detectable).

Who isn't doing anything tonight? I have an Art History paper due tomm and it isn't writing itself.

I need a late night SDNer to keep me from going to bed.

My post MCAT slackage is soooo bad, I can only imagine post acceptance.

That's why you try to take all the hard courses now and then take joke fun courses your senior year especially last semester.

Some of my current med student friends took fun easy classes their last semester because senioritis was starting to kick in. They took dance or music or sports classes like golf and tennis their last semester.

One friend is even taking a drama class right now. That's pretty cool.

I only have like 2 hard classes left. Too bad they have to be in the same semester. Other than that I only need to take 12 hours in the fall/spring of my senior year.

Oh yeah, IMHO radiologists are some of the coolest folks. (Just behind pathologists of course. 😎 )

I second that!! I took a course from one and he was fantastic. Also know one who's getting his MSc part time and he's the nicest guy ever. I'm sure there are always some bad apples, but given the line of work they're in, it's amazing so many of them are such wonderful people.

Uh-oh, Score-Twin might be having a myocardial infarction right now. Vandy is apparently calling accepted students as we speak..... :scared:

Whoa! What is up with these late night phone calls?

I got a path interview invite from UTSW late at night by phone (no caller ID at the time) and I was drunk.

Grumman, where did you hear rads are boring? One of my friends is a radiologist. One of the coolest guys I've ever met. I got to know one up at UF and same deal. 👍

Eh, I guess I have just heard it from people in general. Maybe it's just a myth and comes from the idea that there is less patient contact and that somehow people who go into do it to avoid people? I have no idea if it's actually true, but I'm starting to think it's not.

I've heard general surgeons hate their jobs. I had one tell me not to go into medicine.

my preceptor said goodbye to me today after 6 weeks working together all day. his advice to me: "whatever you do, just have fun." 😀

very true, if you just saw medicine as a job it would be crazy. being able to talk to and joke around with your patients totally makes it great. that and and the excitement of trauma is what has me mad interested in EM.

about Baltimore, from Wikipedia...

"Residents are often proud of Baltimore's old-fashioned and often seedy characteristics. One of the more famous seedy spots in the city is The Block, a stretch of district along Baltimore Street between South and Gay Streets. Since the late 19th century, the location has variously been home to burlesque shows, nightclubs, strip clubs, pornography shops, and prostitution."

Am I the only one who thinks that first line is just outrageously funny?

ohhhh that's right you just interviewed...

:luck: :luck: to Ana tonight!

Thinking of Ana and Durden, two 40+ mcatters, dominating one school is just scary

ditto, vandy better be calling. not that i think that highly of it, ive said it before but its a podunk institution in the tennessee backwoods.

j/k 😛

if it makes you happy it cant be that bad.

 oh boy, i can't wait.....

Hey how is life in the rotations treating you?

good ironman, almost done with family med. i have like 4 exams this friday but my preceptor gave me tomorrow off so i can study.

monday i go back to ward medicine. 🙁

i hope i land a nice chill team for psych and that the patients are nice and medicated. i talked to one of my friends today that told me shes had her psych patients just go off on her and tell her they were gonna kill her. :scared:

was she a premi? if so dont worry too much, they usually catch up after a couple of years.
little over a month early - not too preemie and no time in NICU.

She's come up a lot in height actually, she wasn't even close to being on the charts when she was born, so that fact that she is on it now is good. 😉

I think she's just going to be teeny, though. My mom and sister both hover around 5' even and my husband's mom isn't much taller than that.

Yikes! My best friend's sister finished her psych rotation and she didn't like it at all 🙁 But I guess you gotta do what you gotta do

hi A-MAN!!!

any word on getting me an interview at someplace someplace? 😉

lol, any word on getting me a SECONDARY at someplace someplace? 🙂 Seriously.

oh ****. was i supposed to be doing this? i'll walk into the admissions office on monday and be like:

"listen dean... you see this hotdog jalapeno looking thing.... give her an interview already. and this.... you see this car, hook him up with a secondary please, look at how nice and orange it is." 😀

if i had any power at all you'd all have at least interview offers from someplace someplace. 👍
