A few ground rules. Everything you post must be RANDOM and more importantly, only peripherally related to the MCAT. See my example post below. I now await Beary's shirtless pic of Carl Edwards. C'mon Beary, A-man is dying to see it. 😀

This is Ana's example:

I don't know which is worse, saying as an enginerd I wrote an original poem or telling you that it's an Alanis Morissette song.
thank you. see, I went to that link and thought "poem? what the hell is he talking about?"

I don't care all that much for Alanis (except when she played God in Dogma- that rocked), but Durden- I must give you 👍 👍 for putting that together.

:scared:

It's taken me 6 weeks to write my PS... I wonder how long secondaries will take...

Honestly, I made the dumb move of at least not applying to the FL schools BEFORE the mcat score relase. Because regardless of the score, I would've applied. I might've had interview invites this week, but no, just thinking of bs for secondary essays. 🙄

I started singing Pearl Jam's "Jeremy" to myself for some reason and my 17 year old brother looked at me like I'm crazy... and he loves that kind of music... he never even heard of Pearl Jam 😱 made me feel like I'm a third of the way in the grave

I try to sing The Mars Volta to myself, but they speak in terrible english and perfect Spanish so I don't know what's going on. Still one of my favorite bands after Tool. 👍

Tool 👍 I liked them back in the day, and their new CD kicks ass

10,000 days has some good songs, but it's my least favorite album from them. I didn't like APC's cover album. Only one song I liked--Passive, which was just early Tool (Tapeworm) redone. Everytime I hear that song, I call it "classic APC"

LMAO - that would SOOOOOO be me! I'd not check the caller ID and curse the person out for calling so late and waking my kids!

I remember when Nebraska called me to accept me into their MD/Ph.D. program - I'd already heard from Iowa and knew I was going there over Nebraska. I was taking a nap when they called, and they were like "Hey beary! congrats! woot!" and I was like, "yeah, thanks, bye." 😳

Personality
He is noted for his catchphrase of "Eh, (carrot chewing sounds) ... what's up, doc?" and his feuds with Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Marvin the Martian, Daffy Duck, Witch Hazel, Rocky and Mugsy, Wile E. Coyote and a whole score of others. Almost invariably Bugs comes out the winner in these conflicts because that is in his nature. This is especially obvious in films directed by Chuck Jones, who liked to pit "winners" against "losers". Worrying that audiences would lose sympathy for an aggressor who always won, Jones found the perfect way to make Bugs sympathetic in the films by having the antagonist repeatedly bully, cheat or threaten Bugs in some way. Thus offended, Bugs would often drawl "Of course you realize, 'DIS means war!" (a line which Jones noted was taken from Groucho Marx) and the audience gives Bugs silent permission to inflict his havoc, having earned his right to retaliate and/or defend himself. Other directors like Friz Freleng had Bugs go out of his way to help others in trouble, again creating an acceptable circumstance for his mischief. When Bugs meets other characters who are also "winners", however, like Cecil the Turtle in Tortoise Beats Hare, or, in World War II, the Gremlin of Falling Hare, his record is rather dismal; his overconfidence tends to work against him.

Bugs Bunny has some similarities to figures from mythology and folklore, such as Br'er Rabbit or Anansi, and might be seen as sort of modern trickster. From this perspective, his repeated deceptive cross-dressing as a female may make sense, as it is clearly intended to dupe his hapless victims into indiscretions or conduct that would not otherwise occur. [1]

"Bugs" or "Bugsy" as a nickname means "crazy".

AN-E-MAIN-E-ACKS, mmmkay?

It's the dude with the rocket. Green helmet thing. Black face. Can't remember his name.
omg. that's Marvin the Martian. and he's not on Animaniacs, he's on Looney Tunes.

I think I'm going to go sit in the corner and babble to myself now while someone feeds me pudding out of a little cup.

Young teacher the subject
Of schoolgirl fantasy
She wants him so badly
Knows what she wants to be
Inside her there's longing
This girl's an open page
Book marking - she's so close now
This girl is half his age

Don't stand, don't stand so
Don't stand so close to me
Don't stand, don't stand so
Don't stand so close to me

Her friends are so jealous
You know how bad girls get
Sometimes it's not so easy
To be the teacher's pet
Temptation, frustration
So bad it makes him cry
Wet bus stop, she's waiting
His car is warm and dry

Don't stand, don't stand so
Don't stand so close to me
Don't stand, don't stand so
Don't stand so close to me

Loose talk in the classroom
To hurt they try and try
Strong words in the staff room
The accusations fly
It's no use, he sees her
He starts to shake and cough
Just like the old man in
That book by Nabakov

Don't stand, don't stand so [repeat]

*passes the prune juice with a bendy straw in it*

But yes, I knew Marvin was on Looney Tunes.

and btw, Animaniacs did not originate as a Saturday morning cartoon. rather, it was an after-school thing that started my sophomore year in college. it came on right after Tiny Toons (also a good show, and yes, Bugs and Marvin did make appearances on that).

my RA and I just *happened* to have schedules that had us back in our rooms by 3pm every day, so TT and Animaniacs became our daily ritual. 👍

Hell yeah!

Gunter glieben glauchen globen
All right
I got something to say
Yeah, it's better to burn out
Yeah, than fade away
All right
Ow Gonna start a fire
C'mon!
Rise up! gather round
Rock this place to the ground
Burn it up let's go for broke
Watch the night go up in smoke

Rock on! Rock on!

Drive me crazier, no serenade
No fire brigade, just Pyromania

What do you want? What do you want?
I want rock'n'roll, yes I do
Long live rock'n'roll

Oh let's go, let's strike a light
We're gonna blow like dynamite
I don't care if it takes all night
Gonna set this town alight

What do you want? What do you want?
I want rock'n'roll, Allright!
Long live rock'n'roll

Rock of ages, rock of ages
Still rollin', keep a-rollin'
Rock of ages, rock of ages
Still rollin', rock'n'rollin'

We got the power, got the glory
Just say you need it and if you need it
Say yeah!

Heh heh heh heh
Now listen to me
I'm Burnin', Burnin', I got the fever
I know for sure, there ain't no cure
So feel it, don't fight it, go with the flow
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme one more for the road

What do you want? What do you want?
I want rock'n'roll, You betcha
Long live rock'n'roll

[Repeat Chorus]

We're gonna burn this damn place down
Down to the ground

Heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh
