I'm trying a new sweet potatoe dish tommorrow... I'll let you know how it goes. That's one of my favs as well.

And your family sounds like mine... actually now the "kiddie" table is bigger than the adult table because not only am I the only one left of 4 cousins who is unmarried there are 7 great-grandchildren on that side of the family and the oldest is 6! (I'm not cooking for all those people, luckily. That family lives a 12 hr drive away 😱 )

Needless to say I'm waiting for the day that I'm forced to sit at the kiddie table with the great-grands 😡

I found out my management professor from two years ago was fired. He was just really messed up while "teaching" (I'm using this word lightly). Apparently he was a little drunk or on something. Funny thing is...we have web platform classes so they're videotaped and put online for 1,000+ students to see with the option to download as a 135mb file. 😀 Yes, they found out and fired him. And yes, it made it to YouTube and Google Video. However, it was removed from YouTube. LMAO at his FIREDLOL.

I guess life took a turn South after his wife divored him OVER A YEAR AGO. Btw, he always spent the first 5 minutes of class rambling on the stage like this, nothing new. I was surprised in that it went this long. He lost a lot of weight, but he was average before. He was an dingus, though. Really a pain in the ass to deal with. hi guys! i made it to my aunt's house safe and sound. the traffic was awful on the mass turnpike, but it only added about an hour to our trip, so not too bad. anywho, have a great turkey day everyone!!

there is a program for PC as well. i'm ppretty sure you can google it and it's a free download. if i think of what it's called, i'll let you know.

1. Favorite thanksgiving food has gotta be the garlic mashed potatoes or savory herb stuffing. I don't eat meat though. I also like pies and desserts. 😀

2. Favorite smell:Hmmm that would probably have to be similar to my favorite foods. Always did love the smell of garlic though so probably the smell of the garlic mashed potatoes. Never really could smell the pies cuz we got the store bought pies from publix grocery stores.

3. I like to sleep in so to he11 with sleeping over night outside a mall or store. But my brother's tradition is to go to Best Buy on Black Friday.

4. Well you all know me and I don't like tv in general.

5. Probably have to say there's nothing as crazy as durden's response to this one. But the first year that we started doing the thanksgiving dinners at our own house rather then going to someone else's house was great. We used to go to a family friend's house and she cooked the turkey and all and some other people brought some of the sides as well. Then they stopped inviting us so we started doing it at our own house. Then one or two other families started liking coming to our house better so now we invite a couple other families and its them and our own family. But that about sums up that one.


Our menu for tomorrow:

Main course options:
mushroom risoto
An indian dish called handvo which is like a cornbread kinda thing.
Turkey for the meat eaters.

Sides: stuffing (vegetarian version as well as that which has been stuffed in the turkey).
garlic mashed potatoes made from the red potatoes.
corn
green bean casserole
different kind of bread roles
cranberry orange sauce from publix deli section
probably a couple other things I'm forgetting.

Desserts:
pecan pie
apple pie
chocolate cake

That about sums up what I can think of. i'm excited.

We don't really get pumpkin pies but if we do have it I'll eat it and its pretty good. However, my family is bigger on pecan and apple pies so we get that instead of the whole pumpkin pie thing. We don't make any of them from scrtch but get them from the publix bakery instead. Its much easier that way.

BTW Dr. Durden and anyone else I didn't get a chance to say thank you to, I just wanted to say thanks for the bday wishes yesterday. You guys are the best. 😀

My mum's mashed potatoes, covered in gravy

Pumpkin pie 😍

No such thing here

No Christmas related stuff or football at the beginning of Oct. I love going for a walk in the forest if the weather's decent

We have the opposite problem compared to Durden's. The adults tend to drink more than the 'kids' (I use the term 'kids' loosely, we're 20-28 yrs old). But we take advantage of that :meanie: Last time a certain someone fell asleep after supper and his face became a canvas for some fancy art courtesy of his son :laugh:

I'll have to agree with Durden on the sweet potatoes with marshmallows. HOWEVER, that is not an option at tomorrow's dinner. So of what I'll be offered... probably the mashed potatoes with excess butter. Maybe I'll go really wild and add a lot of salt, too! 😱

That combination nutmeg/cinnamon/vanilla that goes along with anything baking.. 😍

Go out, but not shopping. NO WAY.

the Charlie Brown Christmas special. I 😍 that sad little tree. even the underdog gets a chance!!!

man, I wish I had the problem of getting drunk with cousins.. 🙁 So maybe not favorite, but most entertaining memory would be.. back in HS/college, no one on my dad's side would cook, so we had to meet them at a very nice restaurant for Thanksgiving buffet. when I was a junior in college, I severely sprained my ankle the day before Thanksgiving as I was leaving school to come home.

every once in a while HBO will play Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown, and if I'm home and I see it on the schedule, you can bet it's on 😳 some things just never get old

I have a small collection (4 items) of Lucy sitting at her "Psychiatric Help- 5 cents" booth. Would love to get some more if anyone sees anything!

How do you get on the donor server? I'm a donor!!!

Yeah, we kind of left the box at Walmart. Their lazy @sses took 30 minutes to get the TV off the top shelf and take it to the checkout and then put it in a regular shopping cart instead of flatbed so it was difficult to pick it up and put it in the car. Then the box was too big, so we took it out and left the box for Walmart to clean up. We were p!ssed how lackadazical they were.
