how's your studying going guys? are you freaking out? burned out?

this is our stress relief thread....or our group anxiety thread, whatever..... 😀

for those of you that have no idea what the mcat random threads are about, check out molly's explanation:

MollyMalone said:
It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Hey jlw,

When are you going to be in Cincy for Christmas? I'm going to be there Dec 15-24. 😀

the 21st through the 27th... or maybe the 28th... I've been debating whether I want to take the extra day off of work.. but then that's an extra day at my mother's after I've already been there for a week. :scared:

If I do well on my final, I'm going to get an A in orgo. I got an e-mail from my prof saying how impressed he was with my project. And he wants me to present it at some honors conference in March. Woot.

*pats own back*

 w00t!

Thanks beary. Oh, and I posted pics of my actual hives on my blog. Tell me what you think, o great pathologist!

those look a LOT like the ones I used to get in college. which I had to see an allergist for. which were determined to be a "stress reaction" after extensive allergy testing.

go see an allergist. git!

I am bored. I command the commencement of a randomite chat...

right after I go get another drink.

I just finished my practice physics final.... logging onto AIM....

I know this made the rounds through SDN last year, but had to bring it back this Christmas season!

Best Christmas lights ever: 👍

I seem to recall hearing about the neighbors complaining after a while, and traffic problems, etc. But they were very cool.

JLW,

Where is loveland???

Also yeah about a minute into watching it I was thinking that doing something like that would disturb neighbors around them especially if people are trying to sleep. But its pretty cool looking. Its something that would be better put up if it is at one of those light shows. When I was growing up there was a family that used to rent the fair grounds and put up all sorts of christmas lights and get really into it and people would be allowed to publically visit it. Well at something like that I think this would be cool but in a neighborhood I think it would disturb me afterawhile.

But as Nikki said that was groovy.

It is so insanely cold here. I actually had to go turn on my heater for the first time this fall 😱

Hey I love those lights!! My best friend and her husband (both engineers) are doing something small this year and hoping to build up to something big like that. I feel for their neighbors :meanie:

it's a suburb of Cincinnati, which is where I was raised and where beary's parents live now. so I remember this from last year when my bro sent me the online news articles from the Cinti Enquirer

This is a really great quote. A nice mantra for MCAT studying!

thank you. I also have in my private practice office a little framed card with a Chinese proverb on it:

Those who say it cannot be done...
should not interrupt the person doing it.

LOVE IT! I've had it since college, I think.

begging everyone's pardon, those lights were actually in Deerfield Township, which is a suburb immediately north of Loveland, not in Loveland itself.

a thousand apologies.

 We'll let you get away with it just this one time.

Talked to my folks this morning and you are all right that that guy's neighbors were not very happy. So he rented some place this year and is doing it there. You have to pay $15/carload to go see it. We might go. 😀

It is so nice to have 2 days off! 👍 Between autopsies, studying for Step 3, etc. I haven't had hardly any time. Now here I am and there is no college football or NASCAR! *looks around* 😳

alternatively, you can do some research for me on adoption in my neighboring state. specifically, how likely it is that the biracial child of a 19 y/o bipolar kid will be successfully adopted into a loving home.

*bangs head on desk because she did not need this stress for finals week*

Hmm... if I ever get married I would have no problem adopting such a child. Well, I guess it depends how old the kid is - I think I would like to adopt an infant. But since I'm not married that does not help you with your current dilemma. 🙁

Finals have made us such weak post-****** lately..... 🙁
I don't have anymore finals. 😀 I just have to turn in a paper on Monday (that I can get a 50% on and still have an A in the class - AND the lowest grade she gave anyone on the last paper was an 85% ) and then I'm done! Woohoo!

do you think you might be ready by, um, say, August?

ok

I just posted some more pics to my blog - Xmas stockings are done, and I even ventured to reupholster one of the dining room chairs.

Will you guys take a look at the chair and tell me if that looks decent? I think so, but I'm kinda biased. The dining room is about the color of the red in the fabric.

Thanks!

P.S. Prayer said, jlw.
