this is our stress relief thread....or our group anxiety thread, whatever..... 😀

for those of you that have no idea what the mcat random threads are about, check out molly's explanation:

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

But here's the thing for the kids following along at home... I had a D w/o taking the final. There is no mathmatical way I failed that class. My TA said I had one of the highest grades on the final as well. That bastard did it on purpose. 😡

I've been crying since I found out... what am I going to do if he's trying to pull some crap and say I didn't take a test or something? We don't get our tests back so there's no record that I have that I really took it. 🙁

after having the worst gpa possibly, I am so excited to have something to show. Although of course my mom was like "well you should have had these all along" but I just am so happy.

I don't mean to gloat guys, I just really can't believe that things are starting to fall into place. After getting a 2.0 last year I just thought all hope was lost!!

Though it didn't have the same consequences, I had a prof fail me one semester and it also didn't add up. I had him do the grades right in front of me. I also was like "WTF?" He said.."Who do you think they are going to believe..me or you?" I walked out of there with a D. That's all you need.

It will work out. I know it will. 😍

Because I corrected him in class. I just got off the phone with a friend who has him for another class. Apparently someone correct him in that class and he failed them as well.

Yup - and when I put my current grades into that scale w/o a final I have a 62.5 which is a D not an F. So I don't know where this is coming from.

So with what I *think* I got on my final I should have a nice solid B.

First: Go to the professor. Ask to see all your grades and calculate your score. I would talk with pre-med advisor. If he is an ASS at all, go to the dean of the college. State that you would like to appeal your grade and your professor is not being professional in his manner. (Having the TA on your side will hopefully help as she got to know you during your semester). If he goes back to try to change your scores, contest them (if you have the written scores down). THIS IS WHY I HATE WHEN PROFS REFUSE TO HAND BACK EXAMS! At the end of the semester **** like this happens.

VD, I am really sorry that you are starting out break like this and I really hope that you get this sorted out.

My TA is going with me in the morning. My premed advisor's office is on the way to the Micro prof's office so I'm going to start crying to him and see what he says. Honestly, Nik. I have no idea what that word means so I'm guessing we don't have one.

All I keep thinking is what in the world am I going to do if I get kicked out of med school for this?

OMG, VD!! I'm soooo sorry 🙁 I don't understand why profs can fail people because they don't 'like' them. It's just wrong. I hope it was an oversight, and if it isn't, your prof sounds like a total tool. Does the school have an ombudsman, or some sort of way of handling student grievances because that's just not fair!! Hopefully, your premed advisor can help you sort this out. Good luck and we're all rooting for you

Okay update:

He finally came in. So I went in to see him and I was saying that I didn't think my grade was correct. He said that he thought everything was find but to look at my grades. So I did - everything was like I thought it should be. So I said, "Okay so how did I fail?" And he goes, "What!? You didn't fail!?" And I said, "Check the system." He was really really apologetic and filled out the form in front of me. So the grade is fixed to a B (turns out theh guy above me had an F) But there are other issues and I'm afraid I'm going to be involved with some university legal stuff shortly. So I won't post anymore about this... if you want some details feel free to PM me though it might be a few days before I get back to you guys.
