ok, so leaving christmas eve celebrations tonight my sister walked out to her car and dropped off her purse, she went back into the house we were at to get some more stuff and 2 minutes later when she walked back outside someone had broken into her car and stolen her purse. ID, credit cards, jewelry, etc... thankfully no one got hurt but i couldnt believe it, literally less than 2 minutes in a nice neighborhood. she saw someone standing outside one of the neighboring houses but she figured it must have been someone leaving a christmas eve party or something, shes sure he took it. we just got home after calling the police and filing the report. 🙁

one of my really good friends that i met this semester is Muslim and she has taught me so much about her religion. she told me she is a secret fan of christmas music--lol

and we don't even leave for my aunt's house for another hour. 👍

Ha! Sounds like you could be my twin. I have some very good muslim friends from the Desi countries🙁i.e. Subcontinent: Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh) and they have taught me a lot. One of my friends from one of those countries also secretly loves looking at Christmas decorations and holiday lights and christmas trees and loves listening to the christmas songs too. I think the problem with islam is not islam itself but the religious leaders who interpret the Q'uran to serve their discriminatory purposes and political agendas in many of the muslim countries. But I don't think its fair to blame all muslims because of what extremist leaders and terrorists do because that is not what the Q'uran, Gita, Torah, Bible, or pretty much any religions book preaches. If you examine the hidden messages in any religious book they all teach the same underlying principles on morality and good vs. evil and many have similar stories and what not. The problem is that a lot of people take things too literally or put different interpretations on what they read and more often then not in the case of extremist and fundamentalist people they see only what they want to see.

Sorry to hear about your sister but I'm glad she's ok. I'd cancel out all the credit cards as fast as possible. Hopefully her social security wasn't in there cuz that could cause a lot of problems. A similar thing happened to a good friend of mine several months ago. Sorry to hear about this. Good luck catching the guy who stole her stuff.

and apparently it's not common sense that if you're a male in your early 60s, and your PCP asks you how much you drink and you say "moderate", then clarify that you drink at least 1-2 beers daily- said PCP is going to start asking questions about whether you drink in the morning, etc. apparently the correct response is to laugh at him and say "well everyone does that sometimes. I mean, it's called tailgating!"

basically, family members (we're talking 20 or more) are throwing money in to see who can lose the most weight in one year.

whole idea was sparked cause i was making fun of my cousin eating pork rinds and her unhealthy eating habits. so it go to my family thinking about all their health problems as they get older, quite a few that are overweight... high blood pressure, high cholesterol. you know how it goes, you say you'll change how you eat, but it falls by the wayside.

2000 bucks is a nice incentive. so, on new years we're gonna start this. everyone gets weighed (which turned into a laughfest because we have to seperate it to men and women weighings)and photographed. we're gonna do a follow up in august so see how everyone's faring, and it also gives people who've been slacking some time to play catch up.

it's gotta be healthy. no weight loss that makes you look sickly. no surgeries.
