Hell yes, I like that nickname.

I originally intended to make about 5 posts on sdn and I figured I would use a name I could remember....little did I know it would turn into an addiction with 2000+ posts. Otherwise I wouldn't have used my sn

yes, every few months the admins offer a chance for people to submit name changes.

if anyone ever needs to change their username right away, for example if they registered and made their real name their screen name and now realized that was a bad idea, they could always just try PM'ing an admin like drmom or lee burnett directly and requesting it now. most people have to wait until that name changing period every few months though.

ok, so A-man.....If I just let this screen name (I like this one for future use when I retire Fe) sit, will it be saved for a while, or will it automatically get phased out?

yeah, thats like an automatic PH or ban. talking to yourself online is.... weird. :laugh:

the real reason is though that if you have screen name A and B and one was created to be serious and the other to play around anonymously, whats the point if everyone knows that A = B? thats why when its common knowledge that a person is both we tell them to stick to just one. if no one really knew they had the 2 usernames and were using them within the rules, that would be fine.

Ok sweet maybe I can get Ironman changed to RPMcMurphy eventually and not lose my post count and donor status

Yeah, that makes sense with the whole serious name vs. goofing off name. I didn't know we were allowed to do that. 🙂 I might make a new name and post more in the lounge then. :meanie:

And yeah about the talking to yourself thing ... though several randomites have been known to do that in this thread. :laugh:

when they offer another name change period just let the admins know that you created both. they would then delete this acct and change the name of Fe to R.P. McMurphy. they wouldnt be able to make the change until this R.P. McMurphy is deleted since the server would tell them that the username is already in use.

I am trying to think of some of the awesome names in see in WoW. Sometimes I see a name, and I'm like, dang, why didn't I think about that!!

That's all I'm coming up with right now and those aren't even that good. I'll keep an eye out for you. 😉 My favorite name of one of my toons is Pathologic. Unfortuately I don't like that character and almost never play her.
