So you guys know how much I hate the drive to SA because it's flat the whole way and super boring. Ugh. I have that drive plus another hour on the other side to get to the wedding I'm going to this weekend. :barf:

I'm really trying to resist the urge to stop while I'm in SA and hug all the admission staff. :laugh:

it depends on the picture. in college, I had this poster up for a couple of years in my dorm room- it's from Legends of the Fall. I'm not typically into the long-hair thing (sorry Will- yet another reason there will be no penguin-gator babies), but DAY-UM!

actually, I think it's sitting out in the garage with all the rest of the crap I should probably get rid of.. :idea:

:laugh: There's been some complaints in the Thunderdome that it's not Brad from Fight Club. Excuuuuuse me, but I needed a newer, bigger avatar STAT after getting a certain phone call, and this fit the donor limits nicely.

Don't worry jlw, I'll bust out the band-aid again when and if I get the fat envelope from WashU. 😎

Well, I would love to say "Great! I feel better than I have in days!" But, that is not the case. I wheeze everytime I breathe and Vicks Vaporub does little when it gets on the skin. Consequently, I am sitting here with the little tub on my chest. I tried Shower Soothers on the recommendation of beary, but it only helped for like the first 3 mins. 🙁 I am so ready for this to be over.

Anyway...thanks for asking!!!

did you try a vaporizer (I think that's what they are called) they give off steam and you can put the vicks stuff in them. they work so amazingly for me when I am sick--when I am really sick it's the only way i can sleep. I usually use it without the vicks stuff and it still works great. If you don't have one they are seriously only like $10 at walmart

😡😡😡 So my school is awful. We have to park at the stadium and they think are good enough to get everyone to campus. Hardly the case. The bus was standing room only. I was running close on time to get to a quiz and guess what happens? A person stops the bus and asks for directions which makes me 5 minutes late and I miss the quiz. I could now get a B in this finance class even though I have pulled 2 96's on the tests. 😡😡😡

i'm sorry😡 😡 my undergrad did that--it was a such a fvcking mess. very bad memories. did you talk to the prof? even if you did--i would go ask him/her again. don't give up that easily

He said since others have been late before and he didn't let them make it up then it wouldn't be fair.

I just need to do well on the rest of the quizzes and beg and plea in the end.

yeah i've found that the begging and pleading at the end never works. I would fight to be able to make up that quiz now. today.

Yeah, I bought one. Where do you put the Vicks? I didn't know you could put that in there!!! I just turned the thing off...it wasn't doing any good. Maybe that is why. 🙄

EDIT: No, I bought a humidifier. Dang!

oh oh oh--you have to buy special liquid vicks--it's made especially for the machine. PUT SOME SALT IN THE WATER--i'm not sure how much--a good amount--just dump it in!!!! ohhhh yeah trust me it's gonna feel good

Geez... I can't believe I bought a humidfier. I thought that was what you were supposed to get. I really don't want to buy another one...but I kept hubby up all night last night with my coughing. I got ZERO sleep. We will have to see. You say like $10 at Wal-Mart?

The funniest thing just happened...

One of our dogs (the chow) was chomping on her tush (I assume she had an itch) and she passed gas. MAN! She got away from the area quickly!! :laugh:

ok actually i just looked at Target.com and the Vicks brand vaporizer is $20. however--you can buy cheapy ones for less--good investment though. just an advance warning-they get really hot--don't touch it or anything while it's on

edit: and i'm not sure they help much with coughing. i use it when i'm really stuffed up and have a sore throat

humidifers are great---keep it on all winter and it will stop your skin from getting dried out. there's this liquid stuff you can add to the water to stop bacteria from growing in it.......yeah how do i know so much about this stuff? that's really weird

One autopsy down. One to go. So tired already. I had 12 med students in on my last one. +pissed+

Autopsy #1: scleroderma --> pulmonary HTN.
Autopsy #2: pacemaker endocarditis. We got an email that there is an "epidemic of pacemaker endocarditis in SE Michigan." Faboo. 🙁 Seriously, why do I get stuck with another of these autopsies. That is a cruel joke from the universe.

Well, gotta dictate autopsy #1 while I wolf down some food. Autopsies make me hungry.

Anybody like to give me a back/shoulder/footrub tonight? 😀 I'll be home at like, oh, midnight. Thanks.
