how's your studying going guys? are you freaking out? burned out?

this is our stress relief thread....or our group anxiety thread, whatever..... 😀

for those of you that have no idea what the mcat random threads are about, check out molly's explanation:

MollyMalone said:
It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO POST HERE, you're welcome to jump in at anytime. Here's the final tally from part 7:

Silly Beary. 😉 I said the last 10, but Tennessee won in 1998. The first BCS year.

Michigan won in 1997. 🙂

Yeah, I have absolutely no idea why I said Tennessee instead of Michigan. This is frightening. But - 97 was split. :meanie: I was thinking Tennessee because that was Tom Osborne's last game and we beat Tennessee.

And to think I am currently writing autopsy reports. 😱

About the other Nebraska championships:

1994 Nebraska as voted by AP, CNN, and FWAA (football writers association of america)
1995 Nebraska as voted by AP, CNN, and FWAA
1997 Michigan as voted by AP and FWAA
1997 Nebraska as voted by ESPN (replaced CNN for last year)

See what I mean? 😉

I 😍 narcotics! I am breathing without coughing (or much wheezing) for the first time in a week! WOO HOO!!!

Thanks for leaving out 1995 (Nebraska) and 1994 (Nebraska). :meanie:

Edit: And, the 1997 championship was split between Nebraska and Tennessee. So, SEC = 2.5 and Big 12 = 2.5.

I think you mean michigan and nebraska... although if you look at that season, Michigan was clearly the better team, and the coach's poll just took pity on them after the bowls 😡

i need to sleep... I'm just gonna wait for this peach pie to cool down, have a slice or four and get too bed... night folks!

OK, got my autopsies from today done and dictated.

Now, all I have to do is preview 3 placentas I'm signing out tomorrow, preview an ME case I'm signing out tomorrow, prepare to present at surg path conference tomorrow, and get some sections ready for gross conference tomorrow.

And pathology is a "lifestyle" specialty.

*cough* bull**** *cough*

May I ask why? 😕

Are you a Miami fan now? Huskers won 24-17, by 7 points. Penn State only won by 18 over Oregon. I mean, the answer is obvious. PSU scored by more so they shouldn't win the championship. That's the way college football works, ya know.

Not only that, but PSU played on Jan 2nd whereas Nebraska played on Jan 1st.

Anybody here getting a PS3? I've never been a console game player (I prefer PC), but am sort of toying with getting one. The Blu-Ray is really cool.

I called up Sam's Club earlier today. I asked and they said they're getting two (yes, TWO). They said people already camped out in line. Losers.

I was planning to buy one or three to flip on Ebay, but that ain't happening. I will LMAO when the people #3 and back in line don't get jack. Btw, Blue Ray has been having problems for Sony, which is why the system has been delayed so long. Save your money, wait until the later build date PS3s are made so the bugs get worked out, and it'll be cheaper.

Osborne got all the sympathy votes 🙄 (no offense, Beary)

This is what cost PSU a national championship that year:

The 1994 Indiana game was the difference!

35-29 score was misleading!
Fact was, Penn State was leading by 3 TD's in the 4th Quarter. Joe Pa put in his 2nd string to get some game time experience when Indiana scored a late touchdown. With 2nd stringers in the game.. Indiana got the ball back, and with no time on the clock, scored on a hail Mary pass and then scored the 2 point conversation to bring the final score to 35-29. Joe Pa would say later that putting in his 2nd stringers caused the misleading score... which in turn caused Pollster's to wake up Sunday morning, see the close score and voted PSU #2 in the Polls instead of their #1 ranking prior to the victory in Indiana. Nebraska was then voted #1 and the rest is history...or as we like to say...Bull$hit!

JoePa does the right thing and it costs him a nc.....and that is what's really wrong with college football. You have an amazing year, go undefeated, and still don't have a shot. Ridiculous

I wanted to wait but I couldnt miss work today. Another reason I wish I was still in college. Quickest 2 grand you will ever make right there

I wanted to wait in line tonight but there were already 20 tents there this morning (the Best Buy near me is getting 30 of them)

Pollsters are stupid, plain and simple. I'm sure you already heavily agree by your prior post. Example--this past weekend. Another stupid mother ****ing pollster, from the AP (thank god they don't matter anymore). This stupid ass didn't bother even LOOKING at the final Oklahoma game score. He asked someone during a different game how they were doing and he *thought* he *heard* they were "losing." He said he couldn't find the score in the newspaper so figured Texas Tech beat them. He was wrong. He voted Oklahoma #24 while everyone else did in the 12-13 range. Needless to say, he's kicked off.

I'm angry, too. These ******* "analysts" look at the final score, nothing else. UF lead Vandy 25-6 in the fourth and did what PSU did like you just said. Final score was 25-19. UF was ahead of Georgia 21-0 and did the same. Final score was 21-14. Only two close games we had where we won and not four (Tennessee and South Carolina were close). USC had 3 games against unranked teams won by a TD or less, but they also led by like 13 and such. However, no one brings up these wins by USC or the fact they lost to an UNRANKED team and UF lost to currently ranked #15. **** USC. This is the only time I'm rooting for Cal and Notre Dame to beat those beach boys.

Yeah, pollsters are absolute *****s. The only thing that should matter is what you actually had to do to win the game, not what the final score was. Final scores just don't tell full the story of a game.

USC and Notre Dame: I can't think of two teams that I hate more. I think I actually hate Notre Dame a little more. Talk about a fraud....scheduling ALL THREE of the armed services teams and then having the nerve to complain about no being ranked high enough, AFTER being demolished by Michigan. Charlie Wise makes me ill

UF isn't going to get any help this week, playing western carolina, and it sucks that florida state blows this year. You guys better run up the score by 50 points because everyone knows that you are not worthy of votes otherwise 🙄

I could not agree more. Two teams I never want to see play in the championship game. I hope they both lose when they play eachother, but unfortunately that's not possible.

ND...wow. They get blown out at home to Michigan. If Michigan loses, the pollsters will think they "have" to drop them past ND becaues the loss came so late in the season. OSU and Mich can ass whop ND at ND whenever they please. USC is still being sackriden from Leinhart and Palmer days (however, those were really good QBs imo, this year is not).

This is how I think the season will play out:

USC loses to either Cal and/or UCLA.
LSU beats Arkansas in the last regular season game.
USC beats ND.
UF loses to Arkansas in SEC Championship game.
WVU beats Rutgers at WVU.

USC, UF, Arkansas, ND all have 2 losses.

Only two 1 loss teams ranked in the top 5 at that point will be Michigan or OSU and WVU. Unfortunately, I see a Big East team in the championship game. 🙄

I agree about our ranking hurting after Western Carolina. If we give them a FG or anything, I'll be furious. If USC loses, though, we'll be at number 2 with OSU/Mich falling...

Yeah and if ND somehow ends up ahead of Michigan I might just lose all faith in college football.

I can't believe Penn State got ripped so badly by ND this year. Freaking Morelli was just clueless. Next year when he grows half a brain, with Quinn and samarzia (whatever) gone, and at home I know we are going to win.

That would suck, but then again with all this hype, I don't want to see Mich/OSU again. Too much press coverage of this grossness is making me ill 😛

I would like to see a Big 10/SEC national championship. Too bad SEC screws itself over with a conference championship

If UF somehow gets to the championship game, I'll be really happy. Not so much the fact we have a chance to win (not really), but just being there. I would expect us to lose by at least 14 to either OSU or Mich. Not sure if you saw my older posts, but I really really don't like our QB, Chris Leak, or RB Deshawn Wynn. 😳

Nice sig. TI-89 = teh win.

So you decided Vandy is the final school? Did they offer any money if you don't mind saying?

No, it's not my final school, but right now it's my only school. I didn't get any money, but judging from mdapps, I don't think they offer any until March.

he's just got that listed until a better offer comes along..

I am open to the highest bidder (or best baker). 😉

Did you know that Vandy finished the football non-conference games at 3-1 with that 1 loss being to Michigan. Not bad at all...

There are also 10 players in the NFL from Vandy. Three of which play for my Buccaneers including one of my favorites--Shelton Quarles. Jay Cutler also went there. He's a QB for the Broncos, backup for Plummer.

I hope you stay in the SEC, Dr. Durden. 👍 It would be a loss if you left.

Trust me, I'd be more than happy to stay in the only conference that matters. :meanie:

Unfortunately though, I didn't pick my med schools based on who's an athletic powerhouse. 🙁

oh and Pemberly, if you're reading here, CONGRATS!!!! 😀😀

I'll second those congrats! :hardy:

Well, I give up. Work isn't done, but the alarm's going off in less than four hours so it will have to do. Hope you all have a good day tomorrow!

Hope you have a great one as well!

oh and nikki, did you get your cake? i think it got jammed up in my fax machine, so i'm not sure if it sent. i gotta try one of those cookie cakes next time...much thinner.

beary, I hope you didn't stay up all night. Sigh, I don't know what gets into these HOs nowadays. (shaking head) 😉 😍

I didn't - slept for 3 hours. And thank God - so far we don't have any autopsies today so I have a few hours to sign out cases. I'm signing out two ME cases at 10. Before then, hopefully preview placentas and get those signed out early this afternoon.

3 legs already came down, and who knows how many placentas I'll have to gross in, but I have a reasonable chance of going into the weekend caught up. 👍

The Michigan hype is CRAZY here today. GO BLUE!!

How are you doing M1? 😀
