this is our stress relief thread....or our group anxiety thread, whatever..... 😀

for those of you that have no idea what the mcat random threads are about, check out molly's explanation:

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

I'm not so sure of that. If ND beats USC, Michigan will still be ranked higher.

It will also (imo) involve Arkansas-LSU, UF-FSU, and UF-Arkansas. If Arkansas beats LSU (top 10 BCS team) and if UF demolishes FSU and Arkansas (by a lot), UF will probably get in assuming USC loses. We just need style points. There's still a lot of play left against good teams while Mich doesn't play.

I think USC jumped up .0500 in the BCS while Michigan fell about .0500. How did USC jump up 5%? They beat the number 17 team? 😕

Notre Dame is #6 in AP and Coaches when they play USC next week.
Arkansas is #5 and and same if they beat LSU next week. I think with UF closing out at the last week of college football with a top 5 team puts us in the drivers seat since pollsters weigh the more recent memory games most.

UMP, I was right about the Jeff Sagarin Florida ranking. We had 22, 22, 22, 22, 19, 21. Jeff Sagarin was the 19, like I predicted. The 19 and a 22 was dropped.

Michigan computer was 24, 24, 23, 24, 24, 24. So a 23 and 24 were dropped.

The % of points earned for Michigan and Florida is similar. Michigan has 91.03% of the human votes in Harris and Coaches (2/3 of BCS). Florida has 88.99% of the human votes in Harris and Coaches so only 2% difference. Now it's the computers. 🙁 Since they don't do out of 2850 points or 1575 points, they do 25, 24, 23, etc. So a 1st vs 2nd in computer points-wise is huge compared to Harris and Coaches. So it stretched a 2% gap to 4.5%. The computers more than doubled the gap and the computers only account for 1/3 of the ballot. Unfair. 🙁 Mich was 3rd in Coaches and Harris and 2nd in computers. FL was 4th across the board...

Computers: Gap from team ranked 1st across the board to team ranked 2nd across the board: 4% always. No room for "well, they're a 2nd place team, but not THAT far away." Same gap from all 3rd vote to all 4th votes: 4%. They should do points system so you can see that the 2nd to 3rd place gap isn't that far.

This is why USC, who is ranked #2 in Harris (1/3 of vote), #2 in Coaches (1/3 of vote), and #3 in computers (1/3 of vote) is behind Mich who is #3, #3, #2.

I'm finally home. The wedding was a blast! It was like Senior Prom, except fun, we didn't need to worry about getting caught with our alcohol, and the night didn't end with me crying in a corner. 👍

I actually don't really remember how the night ended. Apparently I had about a 3 hr conversation with this friend I haven't seen since high school. Yeah, I don't remember any of it. 😳

The best part was that two of my friends (one who lives in Houston and one that lives in San Antonio) spent part of the night cracking me up by trying to convince me why their city was better and why I should go there for med school.

It was nice to go back to my hometown for awhile; I forgot how beautiful the stars are there. 😍

What's not fun: my mom hit a deer while driving home and totalled her car. 🙁 Luckily she's okay. But YAY small town Texas where the biggest dangers going home at night are large forest creatures. (I'm sure Penny can relate!)

I think I need to give a little more of a direct answer, lol.

Notre Dame - USC: Don't know who will win. ND hasn't proven to be tough. Yes, they beat UNC, UCLA, Stanford, AF, Army, Navy, and Michigan State, but that's not saying much. Squeaked by UCLA and MSU at that. Blown out by Mich. USC isn't that dominating, either. However, Notre Dame has a senior qb that is playing with a lot of emtion now and played in a close game at USC there. I think the experience vs Leinhart and Bush will give ND the edge on this game. Check mark: ND

Florida: We will 99% beat FSU. If we blow them out, we're still in the running. If it's a close game, even if we win, we don't deserve a championship slot. Continue reading after Arkansas.

Arkansas: They're not going to championship. However, I think they will beat LSU since they're playing at home. LSU has needed 4th quarter comebacks to Ole Miss (huge rivarly) and Tennessee with the Vol's backup QB. Check mark: Arkansas.

Florida continued: If Arkansas beats #8 LSU and UF blows out FSU, UF needs to easily beat Arkansas. Not a blow out, but just never trail in the points and beat by doulbe digits. Preferrably 14+ points. If that's the case, I think UF will be ranked higher than Michigan in the human BCS polls and slightly below Michigan in the computers. It will be a coin flip if not Florida leading by a slight margin. Check: Florida

I don't bet on games so can't help you there. 😉 If USC beats ND, which I think will be hard for USC, I think USC will automatically go to the championship game regardless what Florida does. I'm honestly not sure why USC is ranked higher than Mich or UF in the human polls. They lost to an unranked Oregon State. Florida and Mich lost to ranked teams.

Ana, i'm glad your mom is ok!! deer accidents are very scary. my brother had one a year or two ago, and the deer hit the side of his windshield. miraculously he didn't experience any injuries.
