how's your studying going guys? are you freaking out? burned out?

this is our stress relief thread....or our group anxiety thread, whatever..... 😀

for those of you that have no idea what the mcat random threads are about, check out molly's explanation:

MollyMalone said:
It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO POST HERE, you're welcome to jump in at anytime. Here's the final tally from part 7:

well, i got my letter from pitt today...waitlisted. there's really no waitlist activity until may, so it looks like i have a long wait ahead of me. :/

I'm sorry you have a long wait. 😍
yeah, it stinks...but at least i wasn't rejected. i'll keep following through with my other applications as i would have, hoping that if things don't work out at pitt, they will work out somewhere. 🙂

Oh my gosh oxeye, you must have been REALLY sick. I am glad you are doing a little better! 😍
I didn't sleep at all last night because as soon as I'd start to nod off, I'd have to run to the bathroom again.

UGH!!!

But *knock on wood* I think I'm getting better. I thought that this morning and I was mistaken, though.

You poor thing, that's the worst. 🙁

I hope that you sleep very well tonight!

I hate USC. Cal managed to prove again they really shouldn't be ranked. They got demolished by Tennessee, 35-18. They lost to an unranked team from Arizona. They couldn't score in the 2nd half to a ****ty USC. USC only manged to put up 9 points in 3 quarters.

Another interesting poll...

Who should play OSU in the BCS game?

USC
Florida
ND
Arkansas
Michigan

I don't think Arkansas should go to the championship even if they have 1 loss and win the SEC. They had many close calls (i.e. Alabama FG kicker who missed the game winner). Plus, they lost to USC by so much at home (although different QB and injured RB).

You already know my feelings on Notre Dame.

The only real contenders are USC, UF, Michigan.

You know my feelings on USC so it's down to UF and Michigan.

exams in one week time to step things up abit, I have to work on my 200 word application statement i havent got a clue as to whre i should start. Any suggestions?

F*ck Cal for not overcoming USC. OSU should play UF or Michigan, though it would be odd if Michigan wins the next match-up. What would happen, a split national champion?

Nah..it would be Michigan overall champion. That's what happened with UF-FSU rematch. FSU won regular season, UF blew them out in championship game and all voters said UF was champion. Again, UF blew them out the second time around...

I'm not quite sure the coaches would allow a rematch. Only one reason--intraconference rematch wouldn't be "fair" in their eyes. The FSU-UF rematch wasn't intraconference. FSU was the ACC champion and UF was the SEC champion. This rematch would be Big Ten champion vs Big Ten 2nd place. SEC champion and Pac10 champion wouldn't get in, but both already have bowl games (I think USC likes the Rose bowl more anyways).

By the way, they televised your game again here on Lincoln Financial. 🙁 Not sure why two teams from TN would be aired here, but it was rough to watch. Sorry your senior year went out like that. 🙁

Ha, it was to be expected. While the game was painful, I did enjoy some student signs. "I Rocky-Topped your mom last night" and "Why don't you Volunteer to _____________" were some of my personal faves. :meanie:

But yes, all Swamp grudges aside, I'm definitely pulling for a SEC-Big Ten championship. 👍

 At least you have four more years to watch home games in med school. Amirite?! 🙂

So the Sagarin computer rankings were released (one of the BCS computers):

1. OSU
2. Michigan
3. USC
4. Notre Dame
5. Arkansas
6. Wisconsin
7. Florida
8. Boise St.
9. Louisville
10. Auburn

I think the coaches poll comes out within the next half hour 😕

I'm not surprised. The Jeff Sagarin computer rankings are usually the ones that get thrown out. You get 6 computer rankings, highest and lowest thrown out.

Last week, this was his order

1. Mich (thrown out, highest score)
2. Rutgers (thrown out, highest score)
3. OSU
4. Notre Dame (thrown out, highest score)
5. USC
6. Wisconsin
7. Louisville
8. Florida (thrown out, lowest score)
9. Arkansas
10. Boise State

He pretty much hates Florida, but good thing the faggot doesn't count.

Dude, knocking Arkansas about having close calls is just like knocking UF. By your standards its an OSU/Michigan rematch.

Hey what's up everyone????

So first off Congrats to Durden and Anastasis on acceptances. Congrats to Mr. Tee as well on his acceptance to Michigan!!!

Ana,

What school was it that ended up accepting you?? Congrats on it and as I said to everyone else to who got acceptances.

WilliamF1,

I saw your new avatar change and it almost made me think junebuguf was the one who posted cuz that's his trademark avatar. LOL

Oxeye,

Hope you are feeling better. I know how you feel because I was sick from Tuesday to Thursday with the flu for 3 days and it scared the shiat out of me. I had severe chills and headaches that wouldn't go away and didn't even know I had the flu or a fever until I came to my 'rents house and my temp was taken and shown to be 103.1. Ouch. Well my mom gave tons of cold compresses of water and rubbing alcohol and max strength tylenol so that did the trick finally after 3 days. But man did that give me a scare. Now I know how your babies musta felt some time back when they were sick. Only I feel for a kid when they get that sick cuz it must be 100 times worse in their weakened immune systems. 🙁

A-man,
How's it going?? When are we going to get a new blog entry from you??

Everyone else.........

What's up? Anything new??

Coaches poll is up:

Week 13 USA Today Poll

2. USC 9-1 1,444
3. Michigan 11-1 1,428
4. Florida 10-1 1,407
5. Arkansas 10-1 1,302
6. Notre Dame 10-1 1,285
7. West Virginia 9-1 1,151
8. LSU 9-2 1,081
9. Wisconsin 11-1 1,053
10. Texas 9-2 994

not a lot separating USC and Michigan

Didn't UF have to block three kicks to escape against South Carolina in Gainesville... :scared:

UF is shaky, but no one can really dominate in the SEC this year since all the teams are so evenly matched up...

We got the shaft.

BTW, Brett, would Rutgers get the BCS bid b/c of the head to head matchup right now ? So if Rutgers loses to WVa, then that should put you guys in to a BCS game, since you beat WVa... is that how the tiebreakers work?

I think the championship game should have two conference champions. I don't think the Michigan and OSU couple are "clearly" well above the rest like that ex-OSU qb on College Gameday said. Too hard to compare Michigan to USC or UF without heads-up. If there is a rematch, I don't think it will come close to the feeling of the regular season game match.

UF still plays FSU and Arkansas so we can go up the rankings depending on how much we win by (if we do win).

If we and WVU both win out, then we get the bid. CBS is predicting us in the Sugar vs. ND.

Notice the points difference from last week:

1. OSU - 1575 (+1)
2. USC - 1,444 (+71)
3. Mich - 1,428 (-85)
4. UF - 1,407 (+26)
5. Ark - 1,302 (+54)
6. ND - 1,285 (+12)

Notice how USC, Mich, and UF are all within 37 points while the Ark-ND couple are 105 points behind UF. Since USC and UF have two more games, if either wins out, they'll be ahead of Michigan, no question. I don't see a rematch happening unless the computers **** everything up, which they most likely will.

Look at how unbalanced the Pac10 is: #2 and #22
SEC: #4, #5, #8, #13, #21
Big Ten: #1, #3, #9

Edit: #9 Wisconsin hasn't beaten a team that is ranked. :meanie:

since USC, Michigan and Florida are so close you can almost call these results a tie, it'll come down to the computers, I think

For the BCS Formula:
OSU 1.000
USC .917
Michigan .907
Florida .893
Arkansas .827

We have Sangaris' results already... I've been emailing back and forth with Billingsley trying to get him to spill his rankings to me, since the other 5 computer polls are prohibited by the BCS to release their info until the BCS does (which is fairly early today, 4:15 between the NFL games on fox) 😉

I agree... with the games they have left, that would give them the nod in the computers also, and solidify their positions with the voters

A weak game against FSU for Florida, or a weak game by USC against UCLA might break them though... who knows, the voters are fickle bastards also

If UF gives FSU a single TD, I will be furious. If FSU scores more than 15 points (5 FG), UF shouldn't be in the championship game. I don't care if we win the Arkansas game after that.
