how's your studying going guys? are you freaking out? burned out?

this is our stress relief thread....or our group anxiety thread, whatever..... 😀

for those of you that have no idea what the mcat random threads are about, check out molly's explanation:

MollyMalone said:
It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO POST HERE, you're welcome to jump in at anytime. Here's the final tally from part 7:

ok actually i just looked at Target.com and the Vicks brand vaporizer is $20. however--you can buy cheapy ones for less--good investment though. just an advance warning-they get really hot--don't touch it or anything while it's on

edit: and i'm not sure they help much with coughing. i use it when i'm really stuffed up and have a sore throat

Vicks sucks. I bought one last year and it didn't last me even a few weeks. 👎 👎 👎 👎

i did. congrats doctor! 😀
wait, nik, you got in with your excellent grades now? 😱 😍

The real Final Destination:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15759622/

A 68-year-old man who almost accompanied Cory Lidle on his fatal flight in New York City last month died in a plane crash in California on Tuesday.

According to the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, Bob Cartwright, whose friend and personal pilot died in the plane crash that also killed the New York Yankees pitcher, and two other men died when their private plane crashed into the shoreline of Big Bear Lake, near Cartwright's mountain home in Sugarloaf, Calif.

Last month Cartwright's friend, Tyler Stanger, invited him to a playoff game between the Yankees and Detroit Tigers, but Cartwright couldn't make it. Lidle and Stanger died Oct. 11 when their plane crashed into an apartment building in New York City.

"I was supposed to be on that plane," Cartwright told friends at the time, according to the Daily Bulletin.

I was supposed to go to a CE conference today, but of course I woke up with the hives all over my upper legs and abdomen.

My blood tests were negative and since this is about the 8th week of the hives, I called the doctor to see what's next. Ugh.

So, I have my Friday off - I took a few benadryl and I feeling a little loopy - probably end face-down for a nap soon.

Sorry - I have so not been keeping up with this thread, but everyone accepted - whoooooooo hooooo!

I'm getting really sleepy now - I may go cuddle with the kitties and nap 😉

Bo's dead. 🙁

I hope the players at tomorrow's game don't play any less than they normally would. They need to play their hearts out. Bo will be there watching from the best seats in the house. He was planning to watch it on a 50" plasma tv since he couldnt physically take traveling to road games.

Right now I'm thinking of Favre's game at Green Bay the day after his dad died. He had something over 300 passing yards--in the first half! 😱

It's Thanksgiving break!!!! :hardy: :horns:

Though to get there I had to suffer through an interminable engineering class which was so dull that people resorted to passing notes, middle school style.

DUDE, i'm so jealous you have such a long break. i only get off next thurs., and i had to take the day friday so i could stay with my family until sunday.

oh and Pemberly, if you're reading here, CONGRATS!!!! 😀😀
Thanks. 😍 😍 Obviously I'm on cloud nine. I was starting to get really worried... and I imagine once I really look at the curriculum I'll be really worried in a different way... but right now I could float on sheer happiness. How are you doing so far? I know you got a UAB interview, but I think I've missed stuff.

That's great news - UTSW is fabulous. 👍
Yup, one of my top 4 (the other three being San Antonio, Baylor, and Duke...) I will be absolutely happy if nobody else accepts me all season -- if they do, that's a bonus.

oh there's a new GA on Thanksgiving
What was up with the preview? They were saying it would be longer than usual or something?

Wow. Every time you think you know roughly what people will and won't do, they hit a new low. Killing somebody over a jersey? 🙁

Cloud 9 well deserved!! 🙂

As for me...no acceptances yet. I had a Pitt interview about a month ago and am ANXIOUSLY *ahem ahem* waiting word from the committee... I thought I would be hearing sometime by this week, but I guess it's taken a little bit longer. The UAB interview will be early January. I've had a few pre-interview rejections, but mostly I'm just waiting to hear back from the rest of the many schools to which I applied. 😱

Did I mention............ that I get all of next week off, too? 😀 :hardy: :horns:

So I've actually been done with school since Wed night. It's only this pesky work thing that keeps me from being a lady of leisure. Damn bills. 😡

I can't even imagine the feelings the players and staff on the buses have right now. 🙁 How's everything like on campus?

Not to sound like an ass, but I doubt it will affect the players that much. I could be mistaken, but I don't think the players even really knew him? (correct me if I'm wrong)

I'm just talking in terms of the players themselves, as comparing it to the likes of what Brett Farve did. I mean, obviously its a very sad day for Wolverine Nation as you can't deny the impact he had on that program.

you don't have to coach until your late 70s to have an impact on the team. He had his office on campus and had a job with the university and was around the football team alot...

That's amazing that Bo and Paterno are almost the same age... Bo seemed a lot more "spry" than Paterno.

he cancelled his appointment with his cardiologist yesterday because he was doing interviews for the game...

I certainly hope the players knew (of) and respected the man greatly. When you play for a team with that type of history and tradition, it would be a shock to me if a player wouldn't be moved by his death. Even though he wasn't the headcoach after '89, I'm sure the players knew who he was before signing with the team and such.

I also heard about him having an office there like UMP said below so it's not like he was completely absent from the program after he stepped down from head coach.

To EDIT something I said earlier... he cancelled his appointment to give a pre-game speech to the team on thursday, I misheard it the first time...

Hola randomites! Hope you are all doing well. I am totally jealous of all of you who don't have class next week. Of course, I didn't attend a single class this week. 🙁 Too busy hacking up a lung or 2. Unfortunately, it looks like PWH has it now. I thought I was getting better...until we went to Target and I was so weak. Ugh.

Nik..got a waterless vaporizer. Hope it helps. I can actually smell it all the way in here (I am down the hall from it)... sweet.

Lots of studying to do this weekend. I have to make up the exams that I missed this week not to mention I have 2 major assignments and a quiz. UGH...and that is just Monday and Tuesday. THREE exams on Tuesday. UGH. Dang...I hate missing exams. At least they are letting me make them up! The only classes I didn't miss exams in are the ones that don't let you make it up. WHEW!

Feel better PW and PWH! Best wishes with your studying!

I hate being a mom when my kids are puking.

I can deal with everything else, but puke really really gets to me.

1 hour, 52 minutes until my husband is done with work and he can take over. 🙁

oh my god...

I agree that they would be moved by his death. I'm even a little moved by it and I hate Michigan. All i'm saying is, I doubt it is going to be in the back of their minds on gameday. More than half the players on Michigan aren't even from MI and all of the players were toddlers when he retired, so I doubt they grew up feeling his impact. I think the players are going to be absolutely fine.

You can't really compare it to Joe Paterno because he is still the coach. He has been coaching since the 60's and he's still coaching players today, so that would be an example of the players being really affected.

As for the Michigan faithful and players under Bo's tenure, this day is incredibly sad day. Its especially said since he seemed in good health. 🙁

awwwww.. crap. I finally caught that little mouse. I think he's just a baby. I don't have the heart to kill him. 🙁 He's just squeaking away in the glue trap.

I have to figure out how to release him tomorrow morning. I'd put it out in the garage, but I think he'd freeze to death. 🙁

Awww, jlw, you are so sweet. 😍
ok, I just moved the trap out into the front hall so I at least can't hear him anymore. I promised him I'd try to release him tomorrow, but he'll freeze tonight. (that's right, I talked to him. what of it?)

edit: OK, he's louder now. 🙁 he may have to go to the garage and chance his luck.
