I've heard some rumours that they are tougher than some other schools...no rigid cut-off, but they say that the "successful" OOS applicant usually has a 3.6 or above. I've got a 3.5+, but I'm applying since I've got a strong upward trend and because I have some ties to the state - went to HS there and my grandparents are there (I don't talk to them, but UMD adcom doesn't need to know this :hardy:). Hopefully that'll help me somewhat.

Is it the military one?

nope. the state school... murrrrrrrrland. i still have some fam down there and i loved the area when i worked down there. AAAAAAAAAAAND... there's a medieval times not too far from baltimore in arundel mills (and great shopping to boot)

Sorry you're sleepy oxeye 🙁

Good morning Randomites. It's another day of sunshine here in beautiful, hot as h3ll, Mississippi! 🙂🙂 I'm going to bite the bullet and buy the Genetics demystified (the others are amazing, and it seems like there is sooo much genetics on MCAT these days) today, and stop by the Petsmart to get my little betta (appropriately named "dr. cameron") some treat flakes.

Just woke up! Wow, is it ever nice not to work! I would've been up at 9 at the latest if I were still working.

Slept through step class, but whatever. My fave instructor is on vacation, someone else is teaching it today, so it's not a huge loss. I'll just go do some cardio and lift weights on my own today. A 3-set full-body workout sounds nice.👍

O-M-G!!!!! i just wrote my PS in 45 minutes!!! Well, my 1st draft.

I don't know about you guys, but I can go for days without thinking of something to write, then wham! I vomit words all over the page.

Soooooo, for those of you that sent me YOUR PS, I'm sending you mine for proofreading LOL!!!!!!!

My ending is not exactly what I'd like - I started to lose my train of thought. So ALL critique is welcome, as long as you're nice about it :meanie:.

Thanks!

Fasten your seatbelts, guys and gals, first time I'm wearing shorts this year! I need to buy new ones though, these the size 16s I wore last summer, and now I can pull them off without unzipping them, lol. But it's so hard to find shorts that fit in the ass AND the waist and are neither too short or too long!👎

Woot.. white legs all around! haha. Yeah, shorts are a mystery to me.. they never fit correctly.

Watching a strange-but-good movie called Three of Hearts on OnDemand...

never seen it but after reading the plot summary on IMDB it sounds like a total chick flick.

IMDB said:
After her female lover leaves her, a nurse hires a male escort to seduce the lover and then break her heart so she will return. As the escort begins to win her over, however, he begins to fall in love and questions his task and the direction of his life. Meanwhile, an acquaintance has gotten out of prison and seeks to put a hurt on the escort, blaming him for his prison sentence.

It's a good school, but UMD owes me money. It's been 3 weeks and they still keep saying "it takes time to go through the system." WHERE'S MY MONEY! huh? where's my money! ::stewie voice::

The MCAT was pretty grueling. It was definitely a test were you could eliminate two answers right off the bat and the other remaining two were so similar it was hard to choose. At least for the PS section.

WS, VR, and BS I didn't feel were too bad. I'll know on or around 7/3 😱

That's a short amount of time. 1.5 months? As long as you felt good about VR and BS, you'll be fine. I think PS is the least relative so don't worry too much about it. 🙂 I think you did well. Let me know how it turns out.

Alright, I gotta head out to a friend's to watch LeBron hopefully beat the Pistons. Only time I'm rooting for a team from Ohio being that I'm from Florida. 😉 Peace out!

OK, I'm back.....can you imagine, I'm still not done!😡 I could probably submit what I have now and get 70-75%, which would be fine as long as I get 80+ on the final - I'd have an A then. However, I've recently found out that As here are weighted at 3.9 by OMSAS (the Ontario med school application system, kind of like AMCAS), because we have an A+ - which is 4.0. If I do my best on these reports and score 85+ on the final, I'll have an A+, so the extent to which I work on these lab reports WILL make a difference in my overall GPA.

I'm waiting to hear from OMSAS in regards to this whole 3.9 stupidity, because if all my 4.0s from my US undergrad turn into 3.9s, I don't think I will be able to apply to University of Western Ontario anymore, cuz I won't make the GPA cut-off.😡
