Sorry, those pics were a lot bigger than I thought 😛
Everything's big in Alberta.😎

It was funny, when I was up in Edmonton a month ago, a friend came down from Toronto (well, "came up," I guess, technically :laugh:), and she had never been outside of T-dot, let alone to AB.....she was like "Oh my god, I could not believe it! I've never seen pick-up trucks so big, right in the middle of the city! And what's with all the "Welcome to the Oil Country" signs?" It was hilarious.:laugh:

My cooking is actually REALLY easy. Just a few ingredients and a handful of spices. Chop, mix, put in Crock Pot, cook for 6 hours on low, and voila!
Oh man, I have a crock pot, too! I need a bigger one, though - that one's too small, I have a hard time buying ingredients cuz then I have half or more left over and some of them are perishable.

I have a couple crock pot cookbooks and just plan my menus the week before. Totally easy.

The best benefit is that dinner is all ready for J. when he gets home because he's usually home before me and likes to eat earlier than I do.

I'll tell you more about my cooking once I get the nerve to get that 2-month old soup out of my fridge. I clean out everything else and just pretend that giant pot is not there.:luck::hardy:

Wow, I'm bored, and now I feel like I have nothing to do except for work on Orgo lab reports. Someone, save me!😴

I'm slow today.. LOL.

Made spare ribs for dinner.. yummy. And back to movies.. actually took a day practically away from the phone/computer to have some "me" time. 👍

One left: Cape Fear

Then, it's bed.. and a Sunday of MCAT.

You can DO it jochi!! Come on, we know you can!!
About 80% of the work consists of endlessly referencing physical constants and (even worse) hazardous properties. I **** you not, in this one report i have 19 compounds to reference. And of course The Handbook of Chemistry and Physics only has the constants, so I have to scramble for MSDS online for all the hazardous properties data. Our reports are also handwritten, which means I have to write out the URL for 19 websites.🙄

😆 😆 😆

You always run away when I show up 😉

Sweet dreams, A-man! 🙂

Poor Pete. The kitties somehow got some fleas and we put the Frontline on their backs. Pete somehow licked a lot of it and is freaking out right now. I think it's making him feel messed up - he keeps trying to get into tight places to curl up.

I washed a lot of it off and am letting him have milk. Hopefully that will help settle his tummy. I know people are supposed to drink milk when we ingest poisons.

Poor Petey cat 🙁

Oh ****! Thanks for reminding me to spray mine.

Hopefully Pete will feel better. Though in my experience, cats can survive anything.:meanie:

OK, you want us to analyze IR spectra, I get it. Now, why do I need to do it NINETEEN times? Isn't 4 or 5 enough to show that, yes, I ****ing GOT IT!?

AAAARGGGHHH!

Please tell me med school doesn't have lab reports. *dies*👎

yuck!!!

So I was looking through an endless supply of giftcards I have and realized that Walmart takes them online. Woohoo. You see, I hate walmart (the store). However, I now love Walmart (online). This is what is headed to my house, for free:

ER: The Complete First Season
ER: The Complete Second Season
What I Learned in Medical School: Personal Stories of Young Doctors
The MCAT Physics Book (NOVA)
The MCAT Chemistry Book

:hardy::hardy:

I had no clue Walmart sells those kinds of books. All they have around here is "How to lose 80 pounds in 3 days" and romance novels.

Hey guys, anyone want to take a stab at an ochem question? Well, this is actually more like a gen chem question. It's been YEARS since I've balanced a redox reaction, so I'm clueless.

Half-reactions:
1) xMnO4- + xH2O + x electrons ---> xMnO2 + xOH-

2) xC2H4 + xOH- -----> xC2H6O2 + x electrons

And then the balanced equation...I've asked 4 people for help and got 4 different answers.👎

The pigsty I call a "car" ate the gate key AND the mailbox key. When I got my lazy a$$ out there and cleaned it out, I found both.

Oh, happy day!:laugh::laugh:
Glad I'm not the only one who uses my car as an outdoors closet.:laugh:

Ah, the things I've found there! Ralph Lauren leather gloves....fishing paraphernalia....books soaked in engine coolant...

And to top it off, I just got the car in the end of January, and it was fresh off the factory then.:hardy:

Haha, I've had mine a year, but since I moved off campus in April and drive to school everyday, it's horrible. The other day I brought in a black wool coat (lest I remind you it's a Mississippi summer?), two school sweatshirts, and I just found my mittens this aftenoon. I haven't really BEGUN the cleaning process, but I'm definitely thrilled to be ale to check my mail. hahha. (and I'm sure the power and cable company will be as well..) :laugh::laugh:

OK, just got on campus to work on my lab reports and SOMEONE in the computer lab is wearing gallons of nasty cheap cologne! The whole place is reeking with it. God, soooo disgusting. I hate cologne!

that's repulsive. Just finished my EK for the day, moving on to review blood/blood coag for a&p tues, then do some physics and genetics reading. 👍

keep plugging along! 🙂
Hehe, yeah....unfortunately, I'm getting kind of hungry, so it looks like I'll have to head back home to eat within the next 30 mins, so I'll have to come back here later.👎 Oh well, a little break couldn't hurt, I guess.

Nah.. breaks are good. I'm taking one now. :laugh::laugh:
I've got blood intrinsic/extrinsic as much as i'm going to pre-lecture. Moving on to physics and genetics. Understanding things today, that's always positive...

So how's A&P so far then, not too bad, it seems?

I'll be registering for it shortly...as soon as my dad's wire comes in. I don't think I'll be taking out more student loans, just ask him to pay tuition. It's pretty low around here, like $500 CAD per class, and one of mine is a retake (dropped it last year after getting too overwhelmed), so it's $150 less for that one.

But I can't wait to go full-time so I can send an update to my student loan companies and tell them I won't be paying **** for like 10 months.:meanie: :meanie: :meanie:
