I never cease to marvel at what some Canadians think of US med admissions. Granted, it's generally easier to get in here than in Canada (unless you're one of the lucky ones like me with provincial schools that have reasonable standards), but some people seem to think that having above a 3.0 makes them a shoe-in at US schools.🙄 Just had someone say that they hope their 3.4 GPA will "compensate" for their 27 MCAT at "top schools."🙄

Wow just wow!!! Do they mean HMS and Hopkins??? Then that's laughable. The only thing that stands apart in our admissions is that we don't have to have some very specific cutoffs but overall numbers still needs to be high especially at top tier schools.

wow, any tips on ever getting that anatomy smell out?? i wore double gloves, but i can still smell it a little on my hands. :barf:

Yeah, these are the schools they implied. If I had a 3.4 and a 27, I'd be happy to get in ANYWHERE (don't forget, when you're a Canadian, you also don't have a state school to apply to that'll grant interviews to anyone with more than 2.75). Crap, I have a 3.5 and a 32, and I'll be happy to get in anywhere.

Although I'd like to attribute this to my powerful right-hand punch, I'm afraid IKEA quality is to blame...🙄

When does skool start 5 yu?

Classes started last Monday, and I'm already buried under an avalance of biochem Powerpoints. :scared:

Congrats though to F on his last secondary and Oxeye for diving into orientation! :biglove:

I'm rooting for your Randames & Randudes this cycle! :luck: :luck: :luck:

Not sure if this works for anatomy smell, but once upon a time I worked at a job that required me to cut lots and lots of onions. I found that lemon juice helped dull the smell.

😡Seriously, can someone explain to me how 16 days is not enough to grade a midterm that's half multiple choice? *stomps foot*

What a day! Work was *insane*. School starts Monday, so everyone is floating in to (finally) register for classes and the such... seriously, some people disturb me from time to time..

Clocked out at 3 and brought paperwork home. Can't get anything done there, so it's off to the races with a buttload of papers that I'm hoping to have done by 5ish.

I use the old standard - lemon juice and lava soap when I help my husband in the garage with oily, stinky things.
