Give it a few days. I find sometimes that helps. My hair never looks the same when I style it (if I style it at all) vs. when the hairdresser does it

yeah that's the problem- it's not really style-able.. I'm supposed to just kind of shake it and go, let it air-dry.. 😕

he used the words "shattered", "frayed", "messy", and a whole slew of others.. and then said something about a Joan Jett/Pat Benatar look "but shorter". :scared:

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hardy::hardy::hardy::hardy::hardy:

I spent the afternoon (3 hours, 5-6 stores, 30-40 pairs tried) looking for interview shoes. I came home frustrated and not a cent poorer (aka: nothing fit). It's hell having baby feet.

I'm gonna try to polish my black pair that I wear almost everyday, and i'm also gonna get out the shoes grandma bought for xmas. The problem there is both pair have 3" heels, so there goes the comfort factor. Grr. And I really need to start WEARING these if i'm goingto get a new pair, so they'll be well broke in before the interview/tour.

Back to the stores tomorrow. 👎

Congrats, Funky! PM me where the interview is, I'm curious. I used to have your MDapps somewhere, but can't remember where.

Argh, I need to find someone to share a room with in Edmonton when I'm there 2 weeks from now...posted on the message board to no avail. It's 4 nights, so the $ adds up, especially since it's oil country and hotels are super-expensive. I stayed in the dorms for $50 in May, but now school's in session, so it's not an option. I don't wanna stay in a hostel in a room with 20 other people, either. I'm also trying to find someone to take along for the ride so I can split the gas money. I can fly there and back for free with my Airmiles, but then not having a car for 5 days will probably be more frustrating than the $80 I spend on gas if I drive. Grrrrr!

It's off to work for a Campus Visit Day til noon, then lunch and back to the shoe disaster shopping. Hopefully I'll have better luck today.

Woke up coughing my head off. Helllloooo asthma. Grr. Gotta love november. For some reason when the weather goes from 90 to 30 my body freaks out. 🙄

We went to Mount Pleasant. They allowded the bringing in of food (but not underage Food :laugh:). I had heard from someone at work that there are a couple of wineries that don't let you bring your own food, so we solved that by not brining any! As a caveat, we were feeling spendy so we ate at the Augusta brewery . . . mmmmm: pulled pork sandwiches, giant soft pretzels and beer!

In other news, I am officially an aunt!! Jocelyn Cathleen was born yesterday at 5:08pm EST! I'm cutting out of work early today to drive out to Louisville to see her, and I'm super excited for everyone to see the ridiculously cute Build-a-Bear I got her yesterday (so they'd have the same birthday, of course!) Ah yes, I'm a dork. 😀

Dear lord! If I tried on 30-40 pairs of shoes, I would come home with at least 25!! :laugh: (shoe addict here) Too bad I can't lend you some foot length, though, Gradu8 - I have humongous feet for some one who's only 5'3". I often think I would love to have baby feet . . . it sounds like it would help curtail my spending, at least. 😉

Wow, so I found this awesome hostel in Edmonton...a friend stayed there for cheap in May, but she mentioned that the rooms had 8 beds, which didn't sound too appealing to me. She did say that the rate is flat even if not all beds in the room are booked (she only had 2 other people in her 8-person room, and it was still like $20 a night), but I didn't want to risk staying with 7 other people...that's just too much! But I went on the website, and they have 6- and 4-bed rooms, too! And even for the 4-bed room, it's only $27 for a bed, and then they give you a $2/night discount if you have a foreign passport (which I do). A great deal! I just booked the 4 nights.👍 Now if only I can find someone to share the ride with, that'd save me another $40 for the trip.

I would have come home with 25 had I been able to buy anything I wanted (instead of just interview shoes).

Happy Saturday folks!!!! I have TWO DAYS off in a row!!!!!!! 😀 And I slept twelve hours last night so somewhat feel like a human again.

Holy cow!! I think you've just answered a burning question for me! I have not been there, but I have driven by a gazillion times and wondered if they had anything worthwhile there. I was afraid it would be lots of old lady shoes and I'd have to feign interest for a few minutes before running screaming in the opposite direction. :scared:

A play date would be fun! You could introduce me to this untapped resource. PM me sometime if you're a shoe-shopping mood. 👍

Word. It seems like whenever I shop for something particular, I can NEVER find it (but I always find tons of other stuff I'd rather be buying!). And then later, when I've already bought the thing I needed in a form that I wasn't totally happy with, I find tons better examples of that type of thing. Grrr.

CD- I've only been to the one in Des Peres (pictured below), but was in HEAVEN, I tell ya. I was looking for interview shoes and was at West County. I thought "Eh, it's across the street.. I'll try it." and found the BEST PAIR EVAR. Bonus points for not very pricy, too!! 😍

Look at all the pretty shoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooes..... 😍 😍 😍

Funky's opinion doesn't count because he doesn't like Pumpkin Spice lattes from Starbucks, which is a clear indicator of him not being trustworthy.

i actually tried it a few weeks ago because i forgot what it taste like

i concluded that it's decent 🙂

So I was talking to my mother on the phone, and she's like "We've got some changes here." I was like, "I don't need another little sister!" She's like "Your stepfather is starting his new job at McDonald's next week."

I just laughed outloud. 😆 😆 😆

I told it to some of my friends, and everyone was like "Uhhhh, isn't he too old to be flipping burgers?" I thought it was funny how all of us associate working at McDonald's with flipping burgers. He's accepted an executive position, of course.:laugh: But now I'm telling all my friends that my stepfather is working at Mickey D's. 😆
