thanks, guys. 🙂 long day, glad to be home. went pretty well, I think. the campus was really quite pretty.. reminded me of a mix between my undergrad campus and a similar one in my hometown.

meggie- going to Cape this weekend to have a "slumber party" (snicker) with friends... after a visit to some of the wineries. 😀

I was supposed to be down in C'dale this weekend for Homecoming but I have too much stuff to do at home 🙁

If you go on the IL wine trail, no matter how tempted you are, do not, I repeat, do NOT, on the way to von Jakob winery, pull over when you see cows, and chase them.

I have incriminating Kathy pictures somewhere from that outing.

*says "screw it" to being a DJ, recognizing that EVERYONE knows a good band is ALWAYS better than a DJ... and plays Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto at fortissimo with accompanying string quartet*

(now get there fast b/c this is really hurting my wings to be pounding on the keys like this)

Mmmmm! Don't know if I've tried the fudge brownies specifically, but I will never forget how when our group was down in Biloxi after Katrina working on this old man's house, and he brought us a box of some sort of Little Debbie cakes...forgot which ones they were, but they were so chocolately and delicious! It was my first (and last) time trying their stuff, and now I have such fond memories of it.😍LOL.

(had a protein shake and an hour of step for breakfast :laugh: )

Finished labs and (almost) finished physics quiz (aka: I finished it, but I don't know if it's right. The answers SEEM reasonable).

Waiting on a friend to get here, and it's off to the art walk! 🙂

*sigh* I knew medical school wasn't going to be too much fun when I went down this path, but right now I'm really, really, not having fun. There just doesn't seem to ever be any reprieve. 🙁

I sincerely hope this isn't all there is and that better stuff is on its way.

Thanks, Funky. I hope so, too. I guess I'm just at this phase of the "boot camp" when I wish I could go home and wondering if it's all worth it.

Anyway, I just need to pull myself up by the bootstraps and get through all this blasted anatomy, embryology, and histology. That's the priority right now. 👍

I used to think getting into med school was the hard part and then it's smooth sailing from there. But if I get in I know now that I'll have my ass handed to me. 🙂

:laugh: Yeah, it's good to go in with the understanding that it's going to be a truly worthy challenge. We have a long, arduous road ahead of us. I hope, in a little while, I can truly tell you that it was well worth the effort. I guess you have to learn to celebrate the small victories, savor the little moments along the way, when you actually can take a breath, remember why you are doing what you are doing, and feel that you've made the right choice.

Sorry spiced. 🙁 What year are you? M2 is better than M1, M4 is better than M3, and PGY-2 is better than PGY-1 (I think.) PGY-3 is DEFINITELY better. 🙂

Ahh, sounds like M1 life. 🙁 It is very very hard to be an M1 - there is so much to get used to. You will get through it and things will definitely get better. 👍

I'm just about to start. I stayed up really late and now I'm exhausted. I have to do a whole bunch of studying today to have a chance of passing my exam on Monday. I fear the worst currently. I think that there is some quarkiness in the schedule presently; somehow we are stuck with some heavy-duty lecture material right before the test. This may be a normal aspect of medical school for all I know, but it sure makes my life difficult. I wish so much wouldn't get crammed into so little time.

Anyway, I guess I better sign off and get to it. Thanks so much to you, and everyone else, for your encouragement!!! 🙂

Morning guys! I'm being extremely lazy today... just about to hop in the shower and start a paper (think that's the last thing on my weekend list) and then if I'm feeling VERY adventerous, finish studying for and take my chem test.

Hope there's something good on the tv today...
