good luck arsenic. here's hoping it will miss florida completely, but with your state's luck, i don't think my hoping will do much good. you guys get way too many hurricanes down there... 🙁

thanks misty, miami-dade county has actually lucked out and we haven't been hit directly by any hurricanes in years. we have gotten a lot of watches and warnings though.

the local k-12 schools have already been closed for the rest of the week but i still have to study for my exam this friday. looks like all the universities are waiting until tomorrow morning before making a decision.

wow Q, I was a chem major, took AP chem in high school and everything, and even I think that thing is the NERDIEST AVATAR ON SDN. Where is that list in pre-allo where people are voted most likely to be an incompetent physician and such, if I had time I would search for it and SOOOOOOOO put you down for "Most obscessed with chemistry". I could live with your username involving chem but that avatar put you over the top. 😛

Dude, your renal exam has addled your head. Think about this logically for a minute, using your neurons, not your nephrons: I loved organic so much that I decided to get a PhD in it. Of my own free will, I've spent the last several years surrounded by people who eat, sleep and breathe chemistry nerdiness. How much more convincing of my chemistry obsession could you possibly need???? 🙄

Anyway, I'm already on that list for something else. I don't think you're supposed to get two superlatives. Hey, that's what it was called: SDN superlatives. 😛

P.S. Don't even get me started on what it says about *you* that you get the pun. :meanie:

Which isn't going to help you, UNLESS YOU GET OFF SDN AND STUDY!!! On a sort of related note, I hope all of you Floridians have plenty of batteries. 😱 Woohoo, isn't this fun? Just like last year, but now we get some new improvements, like an earlier start to the season with a record number of named storms, all of which are aiming straight for us. 🙄 The bands are coming....coming....coming.

No, I'm finishing one PCAT class and just started another, and around when that's done (their test is in Oct.), I'll be starting the 6 month MCAT course for the April test. I don't know what's going to happen once the MCAT goes completely computerized, because there will be tons of test dates, not just two. I guess we'll run MCAT classes year-round. 😱

On a more serious note, I'm sooooooooo glad that this season did not have many hurricanes and that the one or two they've had thus far have not been that bad. Waaaayyyyyyyyy better then last summer.

you never know guju, the season doesnt end until nov 30th. i just cant believe the storm turned SW and jogged across miami-dade, i've never seen one do that.

tampa looks like its going to be spared guju! it ain't looking too good for New Orleans though, Katrina caused a lot more damage than we expected in Miami as a slow moving cat 1 and now its gonna hit the gulf coast as a slow moving cat 4. 😱

ok, lets change the subject to something less depressing. um.... guju, what are you doing this year and when are you applying to med school? are you finishing up a bachelors, masters? i've picked up bits and pieces from your posts but i want a 1 paragraph mini-summary. 😀

Yeah, I saw the weather map yesterday and it looked like it was going to head towards the panhandle and the nearby states.

Its an interesting hurricane. Also I love the meteorologists sometimes I think that the local ones know JACK. They make stupid comments which make no sense at all.

really? the ones in miami are pretty sharp, they hire them down here especially because they have expertise in hurricane forecasting

that sw turn though when it approached fl was completely unexpected, i cant believe the eye passed WITHIN A COUPLE OF MILES OF my house... no joke

I actually think that the craziest hurricane from last year was hurricane Ivan, the one that went from Florida all the way west to Texas and was still going for a long while as a storm.

Random thought of the day, but..........

Did you guys realize that NY has 13 MD schools and 1 DO school??????/ That's freaking CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZZY!!!!!!!! That's like combining the number of schools in Cali and Florida combined. I was just looking at the AAMC list of med schools by state, when I noticed that. I was looking for the website for some school in Missouri cuz I wanted to see if I confused the name of this school with the name of a DO school (which I did have them confused). Anyhow, as I was looking, I got to thinking about how no other state in the nation has close to that number of schools.

Little on a side track...I have not been around, but I have to say GUJUDOC, you are very knowledgable, are quick, care to help others, have done a lot reseach about medical college stuff, and have lot of experience to talk about various topics... good job!!! Most of the time, you don't BLUFF about stuff,,,which I think is a good part. Because when I happen to visit this forum, you are all over. Maybe I am so successive to be online after you. Don't know what it is. By the way, what are we talking about here??

Radom thoughts,.. I like that one... I will stop by since it is a random safe zone... Um.. I volunteer this morning, heard that typhoon news Katerina on the TV. I am working on my secondary. The questions are more personal than being hard to write about, and I seem to take up more space than i should. I am a boring one, so people do get confused and bored when I talk or even write for that matter. that's enough for today. I am saving some for later...Someone once asked me if i were quite a story teller, which I am not.

it use to be but then i un-stuck it to make room for another thread, i dont like having more than 4 stickies at once because it just clutters the forum

besides, like i said before somewhere in this thread... now that it isnt a sticky, i think more people are posting in it to keep it on page 1 *evil laugh*

One page makes the life simple and easier to understand... But this one is about 32 pages, still easy to ease in since it's random

Yeah!! I did took MCAT last week... I thought I did better.. but even if I did not.. I had reasons not to do well. 😉 It is more personal and i rather not talk about it..... BUt I will when I get those screwed up scores and ramble too much about it... Or else, i would be pround that i had reasons to do bad on the MCAT, but I did pull it through.
