Right now, before I knock myself out from the forum..

Questions: ( i seem to question a lot and wonder too much, i apologize ahead of time if it seems to cross some borderlines) I would assume more like a computer person moderating this thing. How come --A former MCAT taker is moderating for some reason? I guess it makes sense on somewhat level that a familier person would be okey with this whole CHOAS and going back and forth answering. You are in a medical school if I am not mistaken by the MS-2 on the signature. How do you get the time for it? Is it like a part time job? Why do you prefer moderating rather than working at a hospital, a research lab or something along those lines? Is this job relaxing while it puts many people into Stress only visiting? I know too many questions..i will fill out the whole page if I continue writing... But i won't... .

If I am getting too much personal, Ignore the questions you don't feel like answering or you should not. If you want to, you can ignore all of them. Totally fine.

Just in a case, if you ignore all of them....to bring something random to the table.

I am home alone right now everyone is out partying!!!... that's not the best part about being a pre-med, some people think.

I'm not A-man, but I can answer some of the questions partially......

Why he chooses to be a mod, I don't know, but I'm glad for having him here because he's funny and cool.

However, in regards to mods........it is not a job in the true sense of paid job. All the people who are mods on here are volunteers strictly. They do the other more important things like research, etc. It is just sort of a side thing that they do for fun.

Lee Burnett, the guy who started this site in 1999, is actually a full fledged practicing physician now, board certified in Family med, and yet he also still acts as an admin for this site.

Similarly, many of the other mods are in med school too, but make the time, because it is something they enjoy.

yeah, you pretty much got it. what you probably didnt know is that about 6 months ago my school tracked me down after reading some of my posts on here and the dean of admissions called me in for a meeting. he asked me to be the liaison between UMiami and SDN. Basically, if anyone on here ever has a question about UMiami I have access to the dean of admissions so that I can find out the answer and post it. Thats about the time I became a moderator. I figured that if I was going to spend all this time on SDN anyways, it might as well be more productive. It is volunteer but for the most part, SDN moderates itself. I just step in when people get abusive or I need to edit out mcat questions like last week. YES, time is limited as a med student but you still have to come online to download powerpoints, check email, etc... so checking the site everyday isnt really a big deal. Having said that, YEAH, I spend way too much time on here sometimes. Its not my fault though, there's just too many funny people around here. 😀

i'm lucky, since we go to the same school I know her in real life... i havent seen her in a couple of weeks because of our different schedules but we just talked on the phone a couple of days ago and we talk on aim all the time

let me give you a lesson on post whoring. first of all, post whoring is what most SDN regulars do... we post in as many different threads as we can and as often as we can. this post for example could have been broken down into about 6 different posts! how else do you think people reach 3K, 4K, 5K+, and beyond postcounts? 😎

as far as having a crush on diesel, i just think shes crazy... but a funny crazy, like in a good way. at orientation she actually asked the guys serving hot dogs and burgers if they had poptarts :laugh: I never really know what she'll say next or if shes being serious. Last week there was a fire at my med school and haz mat came and decomtaminiated people as they left the building. she left me a voice mail saying that she had to get into an orange pool filled with water in front of the med school that the firefighters had set up to "decomtaminate". This all happened on a saturday and I SOOOOOOO did not beleive her and then i get to school on Monday and there were signs all over the place about the fire and haz mat. i felt soooooooooooooo bad, but thats how our friendship is... i think shes making up most of what she says. :laugh:

“MCAT discussion” people versus the “Pre allopathic” people over on the other side…seem to be more at the serious level. They have moved on the step further.

I guess I need to move on the next step and be more serious about this medical college admission process. 😉
