I would agree with this. OB/gyn is just a nightmare of a rotation for almost everybody at every institution. The first rotation is tough anyway, so you're sort of getting two tough things out of the way at once.

😱 I've been reading such horrible things about OB/gyn (on the clinical rotations board). I've done 100+ hours shadowing an OB now and it really appeals to me. Am I just living in la-la land? Does anyone like it? :laugh:

Well, some people like it since there are people that go into it every year. :laugh: I think what people find appealing about it is it really has a lot of variety of clinic, surgery, well patients, sick patients, old patients, and young patients. (But of course they're all women. 🙄 )

There are occasional parts of it that I have found interesting - today I was doing high-risk OB ultrasounds which I really enjoyed. I personally absolutely cannot stand annual exams. I don't like preventative type stuff in any specialty like well-child visits in peds so that is just me. For some reason, it is just a malignant environment at all institutions. They are all extremely stressed and busy. Shadowing (esp. if you are in a private practice environment) may be different. Well that was a long reply, sorry.

Edit: See "the specialty with the craziest residents" in the clinical rotations forum. That was what I was trying to say. It is so weird how all the students at all institutions have the same experience.

Awww, I thought she looked the same age as mine. 🙂 I just assumed she was yours, but a niece is even better! You still get to sleep through the night. :laugh:

I was going to use an "after" pic from my recent surgery. (If you can recall the conversation we had about that some time ago. :laugh: )

But, I figured it would either 1. get me banned or 2. knock A-man on his a$$. Either way, I am still a pastor's wife and nothing is "anonymous" enough for me to post pics like that! :laugh:

sorry guys, just little cranky over here. I need to snap out of it. :/

*sigh* a day of school 👎 and i'm going to have to drive because I didn't want to get out of bed this morning for the bus at 7am. I don't have class until 10:30 😎

But I understand - I absolutely hate taking pictures. My boyfriend was pissed at me because I wouldn't let him take a picture of me. In truth, I was afraid of breaking his camera! :laugh:

I was trying to find a picture of my adorable niece to post but couldn't figure it out.

Why am I so afraid of flying??!! :scared:

I guess it must be a combination of genetics and environment (my mom is so scared of flying she won't fly at all. I will do it, just freaked out to death).

My dream last night:
I'm trying to get to the hospital to volunteer but I'm running really late. It's snowing and the roads are all icy and I slide right through all the intersections. I pull into a Toys R Us parking lot to use my cell phone and then i see all these people running into the store freaking out. I go in and find out Britney Spears is there. She invites a group of us to dinner and suddenly Toys R Us morphs into her house. We dine on chicken fingers, tater tots, and these weird fish roll things. Actually Kevin hogged all the chicken fingers. she tells us how she's just a normal person and then i suddenly realize that i'm so late for volunteering so i dash out of the house. My car is down in this huge ditch and I fly to it. By that time it's like 2 in morning so i'm really sad then i wake up.

the grocery in brickell is NOT 24 hrs
or friendly..i called them to check if they have somthing and the manager gasped and said he cant check - i should just come in! the nerve...i best not have put my hat and pants on for NOTHING!

i'm still hurt from friday. just so everyone knows, diesel walked right past me at lunch and ignored me. 🙁

she apologized profusely later and said she didnt see me. 🙄 shes actually a real sweetheart. 😀 😍

i just like making her feel guilty. :meanie: 😉

Wow, busy day today girl. Good luck.

I didn't want to be up this early but my dogs wouldn't shut up 🙁 I'm tired.

Man's in the ICU today and tomorrow b/c he was "asked to cover" for a med student who would have had to work 4 weeks straight. I told him he should have said "no" b/c its not fair that he has to work on HIS service and another. Its the schools damn fault for scheduling like it did and a med student doesn't have to be there EVERY weekend. 😡 They can survive a weekend or two int he ICU without one. 🙄 /rant
