So true, so true.

I wish my bf didn't live in a different city. I saw a girl cuddling with her boyfriend during lunch and I was really sad. 🙁

Oh man...breakin' my heart. 🙁

Aww, that sucks. 🙁 My husband and I did the long-distance thing for three years (the entire time we were dating/engaged). We lived 250 miles apart and saw each other every other weekend. It wasn't fun.

We did the dating thing while I was living in Ireland - now that sucked. But I tried to stay off the phone so we emailed alot. When I came home it was like getting to know each other all over again, and I fell in love with him all over again. He's such a nice guy, I'm really lucky. He's actually really supportive of my going to med school; says he always wanted a sugar mamma.

Awww!! That's so sweet. 🙂 He sounds like a keeper.

What were you doing in Ireland? My sister did a study abroad there during college (then went and got her masters there too). She lived in Cork and I visited her a couple times - saw Dublin and Belfast too .... and got *really* drunk. I was only 18 so I figured it would be cool! LOL

Work with Protestant youth, like peace and reconciliation work. I lived there for a year in North Belfast - got shot at once. (I'm writing about that part in my PS if anyone wants the whole story).

It was such a blast. I loved the city. The weather isn't as rainy as I was expecting and the summer was just beautiful. Nice break from Texas summers! 👍

Well, she doesn't make it easy to say no. Usually it's easier to give her what she wants in order to avert the tantrum that will result if you do tell her no. 😉

Agreed. I'm trying to envision that right now and its making me   out loud.

P.S. I never saw an actual ice cream truck until I moved to Tampa. We used to have a cool ice cream shop called Larry's when I was growing up, but they went out of business. Now if I'm down in the home town, we go to Kilwins. Its a semi-chain. They have a few stores including in the NC mountains, Tn mountains, and in Florida where I'm from.

When I lived in the college style apartments, that was the first time I'd seen true ice cream trucks. They come into my current neighborhood on ocassion to.

In Belfast, the actually serve soft serve ice cream out of the trucks - with sprinkles and the works. We got totally fat off of the one that came down our street.

(Maybe other states do this too? It doesn't work this way in Texas, probably because the ice cream would melt.)

for real! anastasis, everyone else is talking about volunteering in clinics or something and you've got gun shots ringing out in your personal statement. i would soooooooooooooooo put that in paragraph 1 to start the essay and grab their attention with it! i started my personal statement with a story of a girl that almost died in the peds ER while i was volunteering and part of the team.

You should see my Kaplan books and all my practice tests - they are completely scribbled on. ;-)

And the other day the two year old tore out a page of my chemistry textbook and gave it to the baby - who promptly started eating it. Not the first time she's eaten paper either ....

Maybe she's lacking fiber in her diet?

Yeah I was thinking about starting it out something like this, "You would think a girl from Texas could tell the difference between a car back-firing and a gunshot. You might think that, but you would be wrong."
