WARNING: VENT BOX

I have a stupid paper due in Western Civ tomorrow. Don't ask me why I am taking this class. I mean really, there is no point. I already have a degree. At this stage, I am using it to just get my head back in the swing of studying. History has always been one of the most difficult subjects for me. Seriously, worse than any math or science. Probably because it bores the living crap out of me. My professor is an idiot. I mean a nice enough guy...but losing it. Not ot mention he just likes busy work. This "paper" is freshman junk. Which is probably why there are a bunch of freshman in there. But, even when you write an intelligent paper he is not amused. Totally subjective grading. Trying to appease him is like trying to appease my mother...it's not gonna happen. So, the paper is optional. Do I:
1. not do and take what I got on the exam (I have no idea what that is)
2. jump through the hoops that I completely can not see or understand after which he will change the grading format and I could possibly get a lower score? But, if I do really well (2 people out of 30 did "really well" last time) then I stand to get additional points added to my final grade.

I hate this guy. I hate this class. I am going through it for no other reason than to get my head in gear. I want to poke my eyes out during every class.

Time for me to vent - I want the @&#&$^@(! rain here to stop!!!! We're in the process of getting our backyard landscaped (a year and a half after moved in). The concrete needs to be in before the landscapers can do anything. The concrete guys came and did the preliminary work on Tuesday, were going to pour the concrete the next day but still have not been able to do anything because it can't be raining while they do it. They were going to come tomorrow and now it's pouring rain again!! 😡

Normally I wouldn't be annoyed - but I just want it done. I'm tired of the dogs bringing mud into the house and I'm hosting a baby shower for my friend in less than three weeks and was hoping to be able to entertain people outside.

Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. I feel much better.

I never knew what Maggie Moo's was until I moved ot the east coast. All we had in TX was Marble Slab. It was awesome though.

Oh come on, I just had ice cream last night and now with all this talk I want it again!!! If I send my husband out for it two nights in a row he's going to start to wonder if I am pregnant again. :laugh:

I haven't been to Marble Slab, but I liked Maggie Moos slightly better for Cold Stone, because Cold Stone gives you too much ice cream, where as Maggie Moos gives the right amount.

I've never heard of Maggie Moos before. We have Marble Slab and Cold Stone. We actually have a Cold Stone walking distance from my house but I always forget about it and end up doing Baskin Robbins instead.

Hmmm, if I start walking to Cold Stone can I eat as much of it as I want since I'll burn calories getting there?? 😉

This is why I still have 20 pounds of baby weight to lose ...... (I have lost 40 of it, though :laugh: )

mmm, ice cream! 😀
i love cold stone. i have a special soft spot for gelato, especially grapefruit gelato. i haven't heard of maggie moo's or marble slab.

ooh, i love brusters too! i haven't seen one here in boston but we had them back in pittsburgh. they have a really good turtle ice cream.

That would be Ben and Jerry's. 😀 That's my favorite kind from them! Chocolate covered, peanut butter filled pretzels in vanilla ice cream with peanut butter and chocolate fudge swirls ....

Dude - I went on this leadership conference thingie to Italy and I totally got addicted to Gelato - that's stuff is God's way of letting us know he loves us.

There's this place in Austin (and I think there's on in SA too) called Amy's Ice Cream. Friggin rocks. All kind of bizzare flavors. But as for chains, I really like cold stones though I found out recently they got rid of the cake batter stuff and I thought I would cry. 🙁

coldstone is good but now the local ice cream shops are open for the season so they take my full attention until october or so

the current mods have a private forum where we talk about the site's administrative issues, the moderator forum. every few months or so mods are asked by the site admins to recommend people who they think would be great moderators for the different SDN forums. we go through the list and if there are no objections, a PM is sent to the person nominated asking them if they would like to be a moderator.
