I have a fluorescent light in my kitchen that burned out a few weeks ago. Since it wasn't a normal light bulb I didn't have a replacement and haven't had time to fix it. This morning when I got home it is working again. 😕

speaking of ob/gyn, beary you have passed the torch. Hern starts the "dreaded" rotation this week. He's not hapy nor looking forward to it and I can't blame him. Additionally, this is the worst rotation ever I think. Especially b/c the student do JACK **** around except wait. I told him start preparing for step II 😉 Sucks that it was your LAST rotation though, but you are DONE! DONE! DONE! D:

i'll be on OB during my birthday so I want to catch a baby or two on 8/10. 😀

our hospital averages about 20 deliveries a day so I dont think it'll be a problem.

That is cool A. Hern will be in ob/gyn duringmy bday, I'll have to remind him of that 😉

i hear ya, I was going over my physio exams from the beginning of the semester and I was scratching my head as to WHEN I even looked at some of this material. 😕

Ok off to really study hard. (supposedly)

So my boyfriend and I just got back from taking pictures for the dance. I have to say I think we looked pretty damn good. I even put on make-up!

But the shoes I bought were insanely painful and caused huge blisters. So my boyfriend is off buying me some black flip-flops to wear to the dance.

Isn't that just the sweetest thing? 😍 😍 😍

oh i forgot to tell you guys i switched OB and peds in my schedule. now i start with peds as my first rotation and then i go to OB. since rotations start 6 days after i take step 1 i think thats a little better.

That's definitely better. Peds is a much better way to start.

Hi all. I am exhausted. Just got back from the new house. Meg, I checked out some of the video on your site. I am surprised that I am less convinced than I was before. Which is good I guess because (if I recall correctly) you began this with a mind to debunk.

I hear ya. Luckily we have a bus that runs from our local campus. Else I'd be in trouble with commuting. I think finals are horrible.

At my first college, most of the profs would hold the finals the week before finals week 😍

99.999999999% of video/photos can be debunked. The other .000000000001% are considered unkown, and not necessarily labeled "ghost" in my opinion. I am confused somewhat about audio recordings, though. I guess I need more research/experience.

As for that "spooky" feeling - usually it's EM radiation from electricity sources that make a person feel weird!

Also, I think I'm learning a little more on psychology of the unknown and people's reactions to the unknown 😉

we were watching a show on bigfoot in oklahoma which was kinda freaky (like your videos). I am a believer to an extent I just am afraid of ghosts in the dark 😀

ok reallly hav eot study, man is getting on my case 🙁

Woo Hoo! My final is tomorrow and I may actually do well! I put off studying untilt he very end (this is not exactly relaxed time) and I figured that I would cram all day and well into the evening. Not so! I have been goign over my study guide (thank you prof! thank you....perhaps I was wrong about you....I doubt it.) 😉 But, he put off the second test for so long that we don't have much material for the final (not cumulative!!!) Life is looking really great right now!

Those that have finals this week....good luck! :luck: Kick some 4$$.

Chem and phys finals in 14 days so much to learn anyone can explain SN1 and SN2 reactions for primary ans tertiary halogenoalkanes? BTw allegra 180 mg works well for me the only downside it takes a little while to start working

beary,

I went to the APSA meeting. It was really good, even better than last year. 👍 You should definitely come next year. You haven't ever seen that many MD/PhDs and MD/PhD students in your whole life. :wow: There were like 700 people total in attendance, including residents, post docs, and attendings. There were several people I knew, including some of the students that I met last year (and who remembered me) and the dean of Case Western (who didn't remember me, but pretended that he did :meanie: ).

Sorry, Type A, I won't be attending the OPM meeting either. The timing is just not great for me b/c of starting med school and not having any job for the next month and a half....I've never gone, but I hear great things about it. Come back and post about it for megboo and mushy and me. 🙂

Will do, Q.

Y'all, it is official. I CANNOT COOK! I was making SALAD and I started a fire (a big one) in the kitchen. In all fairness, I have to disclose that I have never fried in my life and I was frying these little, garlic and EVOO bread crumb covered chicken chunks. Poof...fire. BIG one. I have been working on this meal for like 5 days. (I cut up the baguette days ago to let it dry out.) But, today I had been working on it for about an hour and a half. Gone. We still haven't eaten. Thankfully, I am a real believer in having fire extinguishers in the house. (Hubby didn't even know we had one!) And, it showed me that I actually can be EXTREMELY calm in the face of pressure. HE was freaking out. He is usually the calm one! So, I got the fire extinguisher...took it out of the box, removed the pin...and shot it right at him! I mean, not intentionally...but he was standing next to our bonfire.

Now, we need to figure out where to go for dinner. Great.

Chicken - it's what's NOT for dinner.

Why? Because it is charred at the bottom of a trash can covered in fire extinguisher powder. Along with the grape and cherry tomatoes that had been lovingly chopped and mixed gently with garlic, red wine vinegar, EVOO, basil, salt and pepper.

Nevermind the awesome baguette croutons (approx. 1.5" x 1") that had been cut, dried, and toasted in the oven with a bit of EVOO...don't forget how EACH FRIGGIN' piece had been rubbed with a clove of yummy garlic.

Gee, it was gonna be a great meal. Ugh.

I guess I better go buy another fire extinguisher...I am cooking again on Tuesday. 😛

That's the reason I hate frying things now and have a fear of deep frying especially. Oh and I'm afraid of getting burnt.

I don't like frying b/c it's bad for you. So, I leave it to the pros  .

We don't have to replace any kitchen cabinets (thankfully)...especially since this is a rent house.

This kitchen was a disaster area and you couldn't breathe throughout the house (upstairs or down).

Ok, I am off to school for my one measley exam...but I hate this class. Good thing I took it by itself.

i would be marching today... if i didn't have a final 🙁

but i did skip classes... solidarity!

and sleeping through my alarm 😳

Q, thanks for the recap of the meeting! I am really glad that you had a good time. I would love to go next year, if I can make it work!

PS 100 more hours of med school 😀

I skipped school today in the hopes of coverimg mod 2 which is organic and some mod 3 methods of analysis and detection and phys mod 3. The chem is coming along to my liking and the phys well i havent gotten there yet. Have a great day everyone. I'm off to do some more studying.
