**never realized how many notes i took in this class... skim time

OK guys, since this seems to be a frequently visited thread, and I need advice: Kaplan will give me an audition on May 30th to become one of their mcat instructors. I have almost two weeks. They want me to give'em a 5 minute "how to" presentation on any topic of my choice, in front of an audience, I think mainly to test my presentation/delivery and persona skills. The lady on the phone cited "how to pick a good wine" as an example of the type of thing people presented on. I'm a bit nonplussed - what should I present on? This kind of non-traditional job screening thing I have no experience with, and so am asking your advice and would welcome all comments. Should I present them with a choice? Since these seem to be the only things that come to mind that I can present in 5 minutes or less, the options would be: how to make friends with a strange cat / how to survive unfriendly locals as an American in a foreign country / how to unhook a bra with one hand / how to start a fire with only a knife, a shoelace, and some pieces of wood / how to compose really impressive love poetry on the spur of the moment / how to whistle well (I mean tunes, classical, movie themes etc.) Thanks y'all!!!

mani will last <1 wk. pedi will last usually 2 weeks or more, depending on how you take care of your feet. 🙂

I'd say any of those topics would be good. They want to see how well you explain things, and make sure you don't have the tone of Ben Stein.

The job that I interviewed for 2 weeks ago is giving me the ultimate silent treatment. 🙁

I was amazed at what the colon looked like from the inside sans waste product. I thought it was kinda neat, too. The surgeon kept apologizing that he didn't have more interesting cases that week, but it was cool.

All I have to say is that you know you have a great friend when you say "Damn I could use a Klonopin right about now" and she says "Well, I have a whole bottle because I tried it and it didn't help. Do you want me to bring it when I come into town tomorrow?"
