to answer your question...i didn't care one ounce for the wedding. the pope's death was a story of much more magnitude than that story.

I dont know whether to feel sorry or happy for prince Charles.....

The royal wedding is so irritating. Irritating that people care so much. I can only imagine the hell that we will all be put through if one of Charles' sons ever gets married. Dear heavens. I am too young to really remember the Diana/Charles wedding I guess.

😍 William! 😍
😍 Harry! 😍

I think millions of young women will sob their hearts out when that day comes.

But Harry is a Nazi, that should knock down his eligible bachelor points.

Only with the potential girlfriends' mothers. Not with the girlfriends. He's dangerous! 🙄 What a rebel.

Are you sure? It was in like 1980. Then again you remember Mt St helens blowing up too.

My only memory from before the age of 4 is getting a new pair of underoos.

Underoos? Underwear? That reminds me of the Roos sneakers. Remember those? With the kangaroo insignia and double strap velcro? But I think they were popular maybe in the mid 80s.

Of course - I had those. They had little velcro pockets (pouches!) where you could store up to ten cents at a time. I think I got those at a Stride-Right shoe store.

My underoos were Darth Vader underoos.

Oh yes those pouches! I nearly forgot about those! What a cute concept. I remember getting those from Ben Franklins . Btw yaah are you happy with your status as Virtchow's bitch 😉.

This isn't like an Oz thing right 😉.

Virchow is my hero. He was a revolutionary scientist as well as a statesman and philosopher.

The body is a society of living cells, a tiny well-ordered state, with all the accessories - high officials and underlings, servants and masters....The human individual is also a commonwealth.

-The hero of cellular pathology is Rudolf Virchow, Professor of Pathology and Therapy in berlin (1821-1902). He was a man of gigantic intellect, a statesman and an anthropologist as well as a physician and scientist. Despite his overwhelmind professional and political commitments, he found time to help Schliemann discover the treasures of ancient Troy and to edit three journals of anthropology as well as the prestigious Archiv fur pathologische Anatomie und Physiologie (1847), now known as Virchow's Archiv. Few medical journals can match its record of continuous publication. Virchow also realized that social conditions can create disease, fought for the rights of the underprivileged, even took to the barricades in 1848, lost his academic position, and had to leave Berlin. Eight years later, however, he was recalled with full honors, including the directorship of a "Pathological Institute" built for him. Eventually, he became a member of the Prussian Parliament, and as such he continued to press for social reform....Many of the terms we use today - thrombosis, leukemia, atrophy, hypertrophy, amyloid, myelin, teratoma - were created by Virchow. His feats are all the more astounding if we consider that in 1858 methods for embedding and for cutting thin sections of tissues were not available. His drawings show the effort of reproducing thick, three dimensional structures as he saw them in slivers of fresh tissue cut by hand.

That's pretty cool. I never knew he helped that German guy find Troy. Sounds like a Rennaisance man. Before I only knew of him for his lymph node.

...and triad 😉

I should get on the UMN library website and see if they have that book in catalogue. Or maybe I will spend a portion of my book fund on it 😍

Sort of watched Troy last night. I guess it could have been worse.

Virchow's triad? Is that for cholestasis? Like Reynold's pentad? I'm already forgetting alot of #### :meanie:.

Haha I'm wrong. Per google:

Virchow's triad refers to three factors that Rudolf Virchow suggested predisposed a patient to developing venous thrombosis

local trauma to the vessel wall
stasis (of blood flow)
hypercoagulability (of the blood)

Sadly that's not even ringing a bell with me 😕.

I don't remember kangaroos on my velcro strapped tennis shoes. I remember alligator shirts. And, I remember my coat had sleeves that zipped off to make it into a vest.

Yesterday I was making fun of him for having dialup. It went something like this:

typed in like 5 seconds:
me: hey
me: what's up
me: are you there?
me: oops my bad. you have dialup. I actually have to WAIT for you to respond.)
me: mwahahahaha!

BTW, deschutes, I had a dream that involved your avatar last night.

Ooh I want to sleep instead of going to class. Mostly just because I want to sleep really badly.

She mostly goes to class to sleep. Mostly.

Heh. I'm getting something of a summer tan myself. Shocking, truly.

It's Tuesday but it feels like Thursday. What's wrong with me? Have I lost my senses? 😕
