And of those 48 hours, how many were spent on SDN? Did you even leave your place?

Just kidding...at least you got some good golf in before it got chilly today. Good timing on your part. There were noticeably less people at Dominick's today compared to yesterday.

Quote of the day: April is when the boobies in Ann Arbor come out after months of hibernation.

Not a ton actually. I was absent for good solid parts of the day! And you may say it is chilly but I love this weather, perfect temps.

Plus, I found out today that I don't owe anything for my car accident, turns out this state does have provisions for accidents where you are completely not at fault.

Yeah, but you have other issues. Maybe if you quit the TV and reading in there you'd get laid? *snicker*

I'm workin on it!

WTF, you got into an accident?

I remember last summer, some douchebag backed into my car and it was completely not my fault. I still had to pay my share of repair costs. This no fault state sucks ass.

Hmm...I don't know what happened with you, but I will pay nothing except however much the rental car costs beyond $20 per day. If it really wasn't your fault at all then apparently you can fill out a police report or have the other person accept full responsibliity (unlikely perhaps, but it did happen in my case).

My accident was extremely low speed. My car was stopped, hers was backing up at 2 mph.

Ahh...now my recollections are coming back. Yes, douchebag's insurance covered my repair costs since the police report indicated what exactly happened in detail (and it was clear that douchebag was completely at fault--plus my roommate was in the car with me and so I had a witness too).

It was the rental costs that I had to pay for...but in my opinion, douchebag should've had to pay for that too. In addition, he should have bought me an ice cream for all the emotional turmoil the accident had on me. Another instance of people's stupidity inconveniencing my life...

Yup. The incovenience is a pain in the rumpola. Interestingly, my mother happened to be visiting these past 2 days, so she took my car today, got the estimate, went to the insurance company, and then went and cleaned my condo. Fantastic.

sounds like something my mom would do.

it's like, "mom, i'm a big boy now. i'll take care of it...oh by the way, i have no qualms about taking your $100K."

Yeah I was like, "and this light in my bathroom is out, and I am out of dishwashing detergent," etc.
you should be ashamed of yourself

oh well, like my mom says, "that's what mom's are for".

but that's the thing...mom's will always find something that needs cleaning or reorganizing...they have a keen eye for these kind of things.

My mom always reorganizes when she comes to my house. I used to really worry about having it really clean before they come, but then she will just organize my cereals or something like that. So now I don't worry about having it clean. 🙂

I just got back to Iowa City, and my mom did all my laundry when I was at home! I got out my white coat which has been in the closet for four years, and she washed and ironed it for me. Said coat practically does not fit me anymore.

Funny how that happens with the white coat. Damn PhD phase!

No! It wasn't all the beer-drinking. The coat shrunk!

In my case, it wasn't so much beer-drinking as it was chips and candy eating. Also, I have basically totally stopped exercising. Barely being able to fit into my white coat has made me feel very motivated to start exercising again.

speaking of exercising, i can't wait to play ultimate tomorrow...and the weather is supposed to be nice!

how many calories do you burn when you sit in a chair and watch a gel run? i've always wondererd this.

My mom needs to keep her hands off of my damn stuff. 😡

Eh, the only thing here that can really be cleaned is the floor. My dog sheds like crazy and throws his toys all over. What is she going to do, file the stack of papers on the shelf of my desk? Hmm... looking at them, I am grasped with the telling urge to straighten the stack so that all the pages are perfectly aligned. Could I be a neat freak? 😕

I should take up a sport. It would make me get off my butt. I went wild and crazy one year in grad school and played intramural soccer and basketball. Then I never did anything after that.

Not enough! 😡

As if my mom could figure my filing system out. 🙄

My mom would decide that my filing system wasn't good enough and would come up with a "better" one and then file everything that way. 🙄

I watched Amityville horror (the new version). Apparently it isn't as scary as the original which I have not seen. There were a couple of sort-of gruesome scenes with a lot of blood. Funny what autopsies will do to you though, I was like, "eh, whatever."

My boss: When are you going back to med school?
Me: Monday.
Boss: This upcoming Monday?
Me: Yes.
Boss: Ok. This weekend you need to write out the response to the reviewers, write a draft of this other manuscript, get all the figures around for a talk, and do these three experiments.
Me: But... But... I'm still going to be around while I'm in med school.
Boss: Yeah whatever. Get it done this weekend.
Me: 😡

I also just realized I have to go buy a whole new wardrobe! I will not be able to wear my uniform of jeans and a polo shirt. I only have one decent pair of pants that I wear to church.

Just got back...still buzzin' but not drunk.

beary, sucks that your boss is making you do all that stuff. revisions are a bitch.

I down Chardonnay (even better than the previous!) on an empty stomach. I think I need to sleep now 🙂
I had over 100 oz of Bell Oberon on an empty stomach...and this was also after playing over 2.5 hours non-stop of ultimate frisbee (our team had no subs).

I actually got dehydrated and started having cramps near the end of the game...so naturally, I had to rehydrate with beer. Plus, a good friend was visiting back in town...it's been a while since she defended her thesis...so more excuse to drink.

Wow my attention to typing errors is leaving me... fast.

I actually got dehydrated, period 😀 There were intermittent spells of feeling like the world was swimming. That was a little odd. Not like what I imagine a "buzz" would feel like.

How do you know? It's not like you had a mirror in front of you.

BTW, you do turn red after a beer. 😛

Easy. Hyperdynamic circulation = face feels warm. I used to turn red when I was younger.

I also turn red when I laugh 😉

I walk around with an intermittently red face 😛

Of course, since those days you drank more and built up a tolerance...hence no more cherry red cheeks when you drink. Yeah, I suppose.
I also turn red when I laugh 😉

no, when you put on blush make up, the red face doesn't fall under the category of "intermittent."

wow....i gotta hand it to ya. drinking at the age of 8. that is quite impressive.

the first time i had alcohol was when i was 14. i guess you beat me by 6 years.

I dunno...I suspect that you're a closet drunk. I've seen girls like you drink people like me under the table. I call it talent.

Fortunately or otherwise, I reach a state of coma long before that happens.

I think I am going to go pass out now. If you see me here tomorrow morning, yell at me to go back to bed.

I got a full day at lab tomorrow...I'll probably be up earlier than you.

Hmmm, so the question is how are you feeling this morning?

I feel fine. I was out until 2 am. I was feeling kinda ****ty at midnight so I cut myself off and drank plenty of water. Believe it or not, I was feeling quite sober by the time I drove home. No hangover this morning.

bish = blush? 😕

*bish* = the sound of a fist connecting with someone's upper arm.

Today is going to be unloading day!

There goes the Washington Manual!
There goes Sanford!
There goes Tarascon!

No longer will I have to run around the entire hospital with a slingbag for my peripheral brain!

I just can picture you running through a dewy meadow flinging books and medical supplies over your shoulder as happy music plays.

It is very cold here today. 35 with 30 mph winds. Tonight it is supposed to get down to low 20s.

Of course, in the middle of winter if a day like this came around we would all be outside in our shorts. 🙂
