The yaAy committee has been in my sig block for ages. Yo has had some quote by him in there for a month or two. Yesterday we all posted in sequence and it totally weirded me out.

The gum did not help a damn bit. I think I got dehydrated or something. My mucous membranes were so dry that my nose kept bleeding when I coughed. I had like 10 glasses of water overnight though. And I went to the bathroom 10 frigging times. My throat is less swollen but my ears still hurt like a bitch and I have vertigo. I decided that overall this is worse than the time that I had pneumonia. Vertigo is teh suxxor. 👎

I need buy juice. And I need to do laundry. And I need to study. This week is going to suck. I'm going back to school even though I still feel all crappy.

My last CPC rounds from an IM point of view was systemic aspergillosis. Heart, kidney, brain, you name it. 😱

Well, she was in chronic renal failure and had pneumonia, and was made comfort care only. In her last few days she was colonized by Aspergillus and while it may have directly caused her immediate death, she died because of her renal failure and severe systemic atherosclerosis. She was also immunosuppressed due to diabetes, and the fungus just took over.



Yes - Committee meeting this weekend. Beary is welcome too if she can pry herself away from her clinical crap!

The hotel! During my 3rd year I stayed in a hotel for a couple of nights during family med when I didn't want to drive the hour and a half back - I had a couple of nights where I was there kind of late going to basketball games (my preceptor was the team doctor). And I stayed in a dorm during most of my medicine rotation since it was an hour away - I went home on days I got out early though, or went to visit my sister who lived close.

My hotel during my 4th year month at Mayo had no internet. 😱 I watched a lot of tv and did a lot of walking around Rochester. 😳

I am so glad that this hotel has internet. I actually called around to a bunch of hotels and asked them if they had internet or not. 😳

I am in a town right on the Mississippi and may go down and check out the river. There is a casino too. Also there is a cave and a museum, but they both close at 5. 😡

Glad I am only here for a week. And Wednesday night is the season finales of Lost and Alias, so at least then I am occupied. 🙂

Tonight is the season finale of 24. Too bad I don't have a TV anymore since my roommate took the TV and TiVo to his new apartment. My ability to find out what happens solely rests on a fellow postdoc who is taping it tonight (I hope he knows to start the recording at 8 pm instead of 9 pm 😱 ). Even if I had a TV though, I would be missing it...I'm still stuck in the lab doing some trans-f*cking-fections! 😡
 
Gawd, the mayor of Detroit is unbelievable. Every day it seems like there is a new scandal about him buying personal things with city money or some such deal. STOP VOTING FOR HIM!!!

I am watching it since I have absolutely nothing else to do. I haven't seen it at all this season so I have basically no idea what is going on but it is pretty good.
 
Yeah the guy on now is the one who played the Mummy. He is the evil mastermind and they are about to catch him again, and he'll probably get away again. Although time is running out in the show.

Yes...he played Imhotep in that most gawd awful movie.

Ok, no more talk about 24. I plan to watch it tomorrow at lab so don't ruin it for me.
