Random non-pathology and only peripherally related to pathology thread

I have only been here 9 months and I already feel like I need to go through stuff and throw a lot away. Half the stuff I brought with me because I was worried what I would do without it, I haven't even looked at.
 
carrying lots of heavy stuff to the dumpster = good exercise. on top of that i did some running so i got in some good cardio today. :laugh:

Plus it was hot out today so that made it even more work.
 
While I was tossing away more junk, I found this intimidating file of H&Ps and computer printouts for the various patients I helped take care of. Too bad I can't just throw them away. Looks like I'm gonna spend some quality time with the paper shredder in lab tomorrow. Woopee 🙄

Remember that waist-high pile of paper I mentioned? It is going to the hospital for confidential recycling, bit by bit every day. In my knapsack. On the bus.

I figure 20 trips should do it.

I missed you. 🙁 I thought you were just on a temp break or something, didn't I say hi in the mod forum? Oh well, my bad if I didn't. I miss the bananarama.

My life is starting to return to normal after my one month on surg path, and it is very nice. I still haven't gotten back into AIM yet, but no doubt that will happen soon too. Only difference is the girl, who actually called me "sweet" in an email today, which I think for her is a big step...

Awww! I 😍 yaah too! Yes, you said hi there. May I blame my oversight on the fact that I posted at 4am EST? 😳

I was in Orlando at the American Pharmacist's Association (APhA) annual national convention. I only had SDN withdrawls for the first two days. I met up with 6 SDNers in that time. One of my classmates ran for national office, coming in second out of 6 candidates.

Have you met this girl face-to-face yet?

I'll send you the (content not to be discussed publicly) screenshot over IM sometime. It's incentive to get yourself back into circulation. :meanie:

Yeah, I've been tapering down my SDN activity. That way when I leave town this weekend, I should have no withdrawal symptoms.

Me too. So that when I leave to camp at another hospital for the next two weeks without broadband I won't have DTs either.

Yes, we have gone out twice and met up a couple of other times like when I stopped by her office yesterday and brought her a treat.

Plus, the 7:30 that Harbster told me was only an estimate...give or take.

Only gone for a few days most likely. I'll have dialup access (which is so not first class) back in Maryland but when I'm in Boston, no dice. I'll be back before she is though :laugh:

I thought it was good (as always!) Still not lots of clues as to what is going on. I saw that Lost already got picked up for next year! 👍

now that is a fantastic idea...i don't know how much free time i will have though. i drive up to boston on tuesday and will be meeting up with the real estate agent and mortgage broker on wednesday. it'll be a very busy day since, based on my last conversation with the agent, he plans to show me at least 11 places. it is intimidating but at the same time, i'm looking forward to it 🙂

I know. I still have absolutely no idea what is going on. It seems like from this whole season, the only thing we know is:
1) there are other people on the island
2) nobody ever gets off
3) everybody is there for some reason
4) perhaps all the people were connected before

So that doesn't really narrow things down as to what is going on. Definitely looking forward to some answers!

yep...those are my impressions so far. this whole suspense is killing me.

conclusion #5) Lost is best watched in its entirety in one sitting when the season DVD set comes out :laugh:

Finally saw the Lost episode. It was a good episode but it's frustrating that they didn't really reveal much.

It is also frustrating to know that there are like 7 or 8 more episodes left and they're not going to show them in succession. It's like we're little hamsters or something...throw out a few cracker crumbs...then deprive us...then some more crumbs...

Yes it was good. There are 7 or 8 left this season? I didn't know that! That makes me happy. Hopefully they will start giving some answers soon.

It is nice here too. I can't really keep my windows open though because I live on the first floor at a high traffic corner, so people look at me when they walk by which I hate. I will just be sitting there watching TV or something and somebody I don't know will be walking by and they will look in my window and wave at me. It is very strange.

that reminds me of college...it was the same deal. it was a weird feeling...somebody walks by and it's like, "oh hi there."
 
Hmm. I wonder if your high-traffic is my high-traffic. I don't really mind, but one of my soon-to-be-ex-housemates likes to keep the blinds closed. In the living room. All the frickin' time. What a total waste of sun!
