I have no clue what my exam schedule will look like at that time. But, you are welcome to visit whenever, regardless.

MedChem sucks. "Draw me a molecule that does this!"... "Umm. ok. Would you like me to put an NH2 group on it for you too, and let you test it on yourself? :meanie: "

The path forum is dead tonight.

I am so happy it is a weekend!!! No med school for me until Monday! 😎

There was a big solar flare and there is supposed to be a good chance to see the Northern Lights here tomorrow night. I have only seen them once before and it was the neatest thing ever. I hope to see them again.

I've always wondered how they take those pictures. Probably a tripod and really really long exposures.

Seen some in my few years here - they look like faint clouds, but they move in a very un-cloud-like manner. Didn't hear any sounds though.

ooh that's a cool picture.

we had hail and t-storms yesterday which caused our ultimate game to be postponed for an hour. so we all went to the bar to grease up the wheels and promptly returned to the fields at 7 pm to play in the rain. w00t!

Haha I just spent like 36 hours away from this forum and I didn't miss it at all. Of course, I like you all, that is not what I mean. But I like a certain girl better. 😎

I haven't been on this forum much either...it's nice to have other things to do. The same goes for AIM as well. yaah, i'm following in your footsteps....

With AIM? I rarely use it because I have been pretty busy and I don't have it at work.

I just finished taking the RISE. All I can say is:

1) ****ing cytology. 😡
2) Translocations are apparently exceedingly important.
3) Platelets are exceedingly important.
4) There are way too many lab regulations.

what i was sayin is that i don't spend as much time on AIM and SDN as i used to.

We do!! I have noticed that yaah has been spending less time with us since he got his new lady friend. 🙂 What is AndyM up to these days?

I am frantically trying to finish up stuff in the lab and should be doing that instead of this, but I am addicted to SDN. I still am having 8-5 hours with no weekends in med school, but that is going to change soon, so I want to get as much done as I can now.

Well, it's also my rotations - I have been on decently busy rotations lately, so generally don't visit here at all during the day. Next month I am back on autopsy so I may have lots of free time...😎

Just out doing stuff more. I still pop in here and there but I have been posting a bit more in the MSTP forum these days...it may be just a phase, I guess.

Like yourself, I too am in wrap up mode in lab which means cramming a bunch of experiments into a shorter period of time and teaching various folks in the lab how to do protein purification techniques before I leave for good. It's a lot of fun though 👍

Hey beary... When are we having a AIM path chat again?

Your call, remember? 😀

Oh yeah, I forgot!! I still don't have AIM so I will get going on that and then set up a time. Yay. 🙂

I have to spend a week on an away rotation in two weeks
😡 (100 miles away and they expect me to commute!) I am going to get a hotel but I will be bored in the evenings. That sounds like an awesome time for a path chat fest. 🙂

That's crap. The medical school doesn't have a housing program set up for these away rotations?

It's total crap. I am really mad about it because I don't exactly want to spend money for a week in a crappy hotel away from my own bed! Even if I did commute, that would cost a ton too with gas the way it is!

Basically, when we put in preferences for an away site, I only ranked places that were within 60 miles, thinking that I would commute. I didn't request housing since I was planning on commuting. But then I got assigned 100 miles away, and they told me it was too late to get housing then. 😡 +pissed+

This whole thing is just totally lame. Everybody has to go spend a week in a general pedicatrics clinic in the community somewhere 60-100 miles away from here. Are there no local general pediatrics clinics? For that matter, what is wrong with the general pediatrics clinic at our university hospital? I totally fail to understand why I have to go 100 miles away to see kids with colds, ear infections, and well-child checks.

End rant.

i hated well child visits. especially the part about anticipatory guidance.

it's like, look you assmonkeys. i don't have kids. i've never taken care of a kid. and now i'm supposed to tell you how to take care of your kid.

lame.

oh well...my labmate brought in this week's Lost episode on VHS...so we're gonna watch it in the conference room next to our lab here. from now on, i'm gonna have to actually watch the episodes on TV. the site where i download my episodes from was sued by the MPAA along with 5 of the other BitTorrent sites.

i hate you MPAA! 😡

I thought this week's Lost was really good. I think there are only two episodes left this season! Supposedly it really ends on a cliffhanger.

Sucks about BitTorrent.

just finished watching it. it was really good. what freaks me out now is the deal with the little kid and the hatch.

regarding the end of the season, i heard the same thing. apparently there is little sense of closure at the end of the final episode.

I can't figure out why they send med students hundreds of miles away either. I think it is probably because sometimes it's hard to get volunteers to take students, so they take them wherever they can get them. I got sent 35 miles for pedes, 55 miles for FP.
