Last week I really only did anything for one day. All the other days I was totally ignored. I would even ask to do stuff and they would basically say later.
 
You're asking to do stuff? Why? :laugh: 😉

The only good thing about those far away rotations is that usually the preceptor is a good teacher who likes having students. Plus, you usually get some extra credit for coming all that distance. 🙂

Yeah, good question. I was just getting so bored and mad sitting there and the time went faster if I was at least going to see patients. However, two of the days I just left and went back to lab. 🙂

Guess I shouldn't be whining about having to go 100 miles away for a week.

It's an hour and a half if light traffic. I take the express bus from downtown Tacoma. It would be about the same time if I drove, plus I'd have to pay for gas and parking. Since the campus parking lot is pretty far away and the bus drops me off right next to my building, I usually opt for the bus.

I like driving, though. 100 miles there is probably like 2 hours if it is straight freeway. That would be fun if I weren't tired. Tt might be nice to get a hotel, though, so you don't have to get up at the butt crack of dawn. Plus that way we can entertain you! 🙂

I am waiting for the northern lights. So far nothing is going on, but it is still kind of early. I have been disappointed many times before though when they were forecast.

Yeah, I already made reservations for a hotel. I figure that way I will be able to get some studying done, and of course internet. I made sure that the place I am staying has high speed internet. :laugh:

Is that because you just got EAR? Or, is it because you weren't LISTENING very well before? 😛

I am starting to wonder if I have an ear infection. My ears never hurt when I have a cold. And they started hurting before I started coughing. Stupid ears. I should just cut em off! 🙁

I am very sorry about your ears. 🙁 I had an ear infection last year (the only one I've had as an adult) and it was very painful. I only had it in one ear and I couldn't hear anything at all in that ear - it was really weird. Antibiotics helped pretty much right away though. I sure hope you feel better soon.
 
I had them alot as a kid and don't remember them hurting then. I remember really liking the bubblegum flavor of amoxicillin suspension. IBU seems to be keeping the inflammation down. Maybe my body will heal on it's own. If not, I have an appt with my FP on Tuesday anyway.

You know I took my dog to the groomer and they shaved his butt. It looks so stupid. He only went for a bath/brushing/nail trim. Apparently they do some anal cleansing because his rear end is super clean. My poor terrorized doggie.

Rants for the day:

(1) Didn't eat since lunch yesterday and decided to try my luck at the local CrackDonald's (which I haven't gotten food from in ages). I got the 2 cheeseburger meal. I ate the first one and felt the urge to hurl. Ended up throwing the rest away while thinking, "you know, jerry in ethiopia would enjoy this."

(2) I have exceeded my daily quota of uttering the phrase, "g'damn people are f*cking stupid!"

(3) Old people shouldn't be allowed to drive.

The Pistons are quite disappointing in this series of games.

I thought the Pistons had this in the bag. Even if they win, they'll be going up against a well-rested Miami Heat team and end up getting whooped. And all the folks who say that Dwayne Wade ain't no Kobe...who cares! Dude scored 42 points last night! 😱
 
ok pistons up by 16 and the fourth quarter just started. if they lose this lead and f*ck this up, i'm gonna be upset.

I really don't care. Pistons are easy to root for since Ann Arbor is near Detroit and they're doing well. Call me a bandwagon fan...hey, have a spoon. I don't really care for the NBA though but there's no other sports to follow now. I even prefer NHL to NBA but we all know what happened to the NHL.

hmm pathology has more posts than all of the other residency forums. i wonder if that signifies anything. i cant believe reggie miller is still playing. hes like the only one from the original dream team.
