No. Supposedly the owner did. But, he was never charged.

I lit my hair on fire once, though. It was long and I was leaning over a candle. It didn't burn much though. It just kind of singed the ends. I was not wearing hairspray, luckily.

Pathology is cool.

But so is Ortho.

😕

Oh, and <2 months till I move to San Antone. w00t!

I think everybody considers ortho at some point, but you'll figure out if it is something you actually enjoy. I think ortho-oncology is a really interesting specialty.

i never considered ortho. never was a big fan of biomechanics, bonesaws, vectors. seems like ortho gels well with the engineering-inclined.

Yeah Ortho sucks, all the phat loot ($), crazy amputations for wierd bone tumors, all the the hobnobbing with athletes and bigwigs, hot chicks dangling on your arms and of course the black Ferrari with the wicked license plate "BONESAW" would all completely suck ass, what the hell are people thinking. Seriously. How gay can one field be??

Why not a career in basic science? Well, if I wanted to be poor, I would've become a priest because then at least I would've be fed for free and actually get laid.

holy cow...statements like that can scare the bejesus out of a person considering a career in basic science.....

statements like that don't do squat to me. this was my understanding when i made my career choice. sure, this statement can scare others but if they truly love science and discovery, they can hopefully look the other way when it comes down to money.

it all depends where a person is coming from. if you grew up poor and your daily life revolved around scrapping for pennies and dimes, of course money is going to be a major motivation for your future career choices. that's fine and i don't blame them for it one bit.

i never cared for making tons of cash. my family wasn't like all uppity first class n **** but we never struggled. i never thought twice about money and i won't start now. i'm tired of hearing about all this "you ain't gonna make **** as a basic science researcher." hello! no ****! i know that! durrrr!

Yeah being poor is like a cycle, see my dad grew up like you not having to worry about $$ because grandad was very concerned about it and provided amply. Then I come along and my dad is like shiat, Im gonna do something fun I enjoy. So while he was trotting the world hobnobbing with big whig types but not really making much, I was at home with mom eating stale PB&Js. I figure it will be the same with you.

I disagree with being poor being a cycle.......LaDOC....does interest mean anything? or is money the end-all?

In terms of being poor, yes money is the bottom line.

You cant go the supermarket and cash in a strong "interest in transcriptional regulation" for some soup or a roasted chicken. If you can, then please tell me how bro. But honestly, if you are staying single, have no kids then who cares what your quality of life is as long as you are happy and fulfilled. Its just when there are other people in the picture it becomes selfish. Like for me, I thought it was great my dad got do what he wanted to do with his life, but still thought it sucked I never had a birthday party with my friends or had to wear patched up clothes to school.

I dont know....no matter which speciality you do as a doctor, i dont think you are really going to starve.....

One thing i think i have learnt as a kid is that you d desire something only when you dont have it.....If you earn ****loads of money and your kid has every thing he can imagine, which you provide for, i dont think he d really be inclined to work hard for anything......Id rather have my kid undergo a bit of hardship in order to want and desire something which he can aim for in his life .....too much of a good thing can be bad too....

Money centric attitude probably will buy only so much of satisfaction..but can t really make you permanently happy....

But then i guess its different strokes for different folks....

What did those of you who have seen Kill Bill think of it? I have some friends who have raved over it so I am watching it now. I am about half an hour in and am a weird combination of disturbed and intrigued. I don't want to finish it but I do at the same time.

I do think that this is one of the best movie soundtracks ever - it totally makes the movie.

I really enjoyed it. It is very gory though. The fight scenes are insane and I agree about the music.

I actually liked Kill Bill 2 better because of the way each of the bad guys/gals die (the method by which they are killed fits in very well with the overall plot line).

Enjoy!

If you a regular kung fu movie buff, then you all appreciate it even more!!!......the thin fizzy sprays of blood.....the black and white flashbacks.....incredibly breaking swords.....quentin did a good work of it...there is a LOT of symbolism in it...

I started my kung fu movie obsession with a movie called "36 chambers of shaolin"

remarkable work...
