I've been wondering this for sometime now, but what does the average pharmacy student wear? what is the appropriate attire? :diebanana:

For a school without an enforced business professional dress code, I'm going with slightly-better-than-undergraduate. When I was touring schools, that seemed to be the general consensus that folks operated under.

the majority of my class wears regular street clothes...t-shirts, shorts, jeans, etc. i dunno about other schools though.

The average pharm students wears a white coat like an average med student. Not.

But here is a cool and hilarious video on the subject of med students wearing coats:

Most people, myself included, wear things that let them move comfortably and soothe pains caused by severe lack of sleep.

When in class it's jeans and a t-shirt.

When doing things in basic skills lab it's scrubs and white coat.

When going to site visits and representing your school it's shirt/tie white coat.

When at home it's boxer shorts and a beer hat.

You wear boxers at home?

I prefer naked w/ white coat.

One local SOP has a dress code: absolutely no jeans. professional attire, with a polo-style shirt at a minimum. Shirt and tie on Thursdays.

WOW, I would have to revamp my closet if I went to that school.

At Jefferson its casual (jeans, shirt, t-shirt, whatever you want) for lecture

For lab & IPPE (clinical) we have to dress professional with our white coat. Guys: shirt & tie; girls: no open-toed shoes

At my school some classes (for example management) require business casual. Labs (P&T lab and compounding lab) require shirt, tie and coat. Otherwise, whatever you want.

Ok, I think this depends on the school. I have worked with some students that attended UF, Nova, and PBA and this is what I have gathered:

UF: Business professional (if this makes sense?) they have to wear their lab coats to class and one of the students told me their teacher makes them stand up to answer questions and if your lab coat is longer than your skirt for instance, you will be asked to leave class.

Nova- Business professional or scrubs. =)

PBA-Since PBA is a Christian school, they must wear professional clothes that cover themselves (no bellies or underwear showing...)

Like I said, this is just what I have heard from students that attend these schools.
