Apparently he sent me a message that went in my "other" inbox

"hello dear,you look beautiful and adorable,please i will like us to be in a relationship that can lead to marry"

So I have a marriage proposal.... now I know someone who wants to marry me.... I am in fact not completely fecked.... if I don't find someone I can always contact him! 😀

Eerily similar to the message I received. Sadly, it looks like it has been deleted since it is now probably 3 years old. =(
I was amused by it though.

Lies! Found it. Along with a more recent one asking to get me know me as well (this one is at Oxford). Guy from India is doing a medical residency...maybe he can help me with my loans?
 
I'm tipsy...and sitting in urinary systems lecture.

I decided to have 2 vodka tonics at lunch...

We have a written policy that if we go out and have a glass of wine or beer (or any alcohol) with lunch, to not come back to class in the afternoon.

I understand the premise...but didn't think it was an official policy....

Which is too bad because sometimes I just really want a fecking Caesar with my lunch.

That's interesting. We have no such policy that I know of. I would not have returned if I would have been a distraction. But I just sat there and listened to lecture like normal. I didn't even sleep like some other people did that presumably didn't have a drink at lunch. I left the campus, so I didn't drink at school.

There is a bar in the old vet school building in city centre. Many of the students and professors want to get a bar out to this new building as well, so there is talk amongst the student council to get a bar into the vet school.
 
i dont think they sell hard liquor on campus here, but you can definitely buy beer at any of the little stores (and my classmates frequently do after each exam :laugh:)
 
I haven't done it yet, but I've had several classmates come to class buzzed (some probably even more). Can't really blame them went Copa does like $4 burgers on Wednesday and has some drink specials at that time.

I've gone out for lunch and had a beer (maybe two) between classes before. With that said, I also have a beer/cider while studying pretty often, so maybe I'm just maintaining a constant state. :laugh:

I hate and love this time of year. Its beautiful outside, just a superb time and my birthday is in a couple weeks... But in November my horse will be gone 2 years, and the life shift I've been going through since then is still continuing. I'd give it all up to have him back. I really fricking miss him.
 
Submitted my pre-proposal for my dissertation research topic today. First time writing a legitimate one and there was a lot of uncertainty about costs...made many an estimate, haha. I'm hoping this goes through and receives funding, because I think it's a really awesome project and can be completed in a decent amount of time (3 years). My committee chair is very excited for it too, which I'm taking as a good sign. It's experimental, involves animals, and focuses on epidemiology...all of which makes me very happy. Review by the director that will be funding the research starts on Monday. I've already got some backup ideas in case it falls through...but I think this research is a lot stronger than my Plan Bs. 😳
 
I'm kinda sad that I can't get any animated avatars to work. 🙁 Is this happening for other gold donors as well? It shows up in my avatar....but will just be a single, non-animated frame. Not sure if this means I need to optimize it more or if SDN is being silly.

Anyone have any plane ticket buying advice? I think I'm going to fly home in 2 weeks to surprise my mom for her birthday, but tickets are twice what they normally are. Trying to decide if I should just buy a ticket now in case the price goes up any further or wait and hope it comes down a little (can't imagine it will come down more than $100). I need a plane ticket buying wizard! (Flying from STL to PVD the 18th to the 21st in case anyone wanted to look at specifics...)

I don't know what you were finding, but I was finding in the $540-$560 range when I searched. I did find some for just slightly over $500, but those were through Boston, Logan not PVD and leaving at 6AM on the 18th. Also, most airlines charge much more for tickets the closer you get to the date you want to depart, so buying early is better. I hope you find something that works for you. 🙂

Yeah, usually I buy well in advance. This is a spur of the moment sort of thing. Thanks! I ended up just buying tickets because I looked and there were only a few seats left on each of the planes I would be taking. It is done! Could use something to look forward to right now.

Have a great time! I'm flying out to see my mom this coming weekend get married at the beach 😍 I'm so excited, it has definitely helped having something to look forward to.
