Hold up... You're not supposed to wear the same outfit more than once? I repeat at least one outfit week to week... I only have so many Jeans/t shirts combos!

I think it's more going out type outfits, because I definitely have a limited amount of those lol... 500 pairs of scrubs, but the going out outfits need to be recycled lol.

Plus I want to buy more outfits but I also don't really have a sense of style.. In the old days my style was half chaps breeches and a tshirt that smelled like the barn, now it's scrubs. I don't really do "dress up" very well 😀

lol, me too! Jeans, t-shirts, and hoodies are pretty much the only thing I wear. I wear mostly the same things every single week. Though I'm not sure I'd go so far as to call them "outfits". :laugh:

93.8 percent in my bio 2 lab class right now. Highest grade in the class is a 95%. SO CLOSE TO DOMINATION.

Uh, allowing us to see everyone's grades (anonymously) is mildly torturous. In a good way.

Haha, glad my professor hasn't shown us everyone's... I'm riding a 95.7 in my chem w/lab... I'm a teensy bit competitive so I would obsess if I knew. More than I am.
 
My roomie got me the Patriots Alex & Ani charm for my bracelet for my birthday! Woohoo!!! Its my first Alex & Ani anything.
 
Saw that today, Escalla. About damn time they put something out! Luckily, it doesn't fall during any critical exam time, cause I'm planning a big viewing party for the AVC Whovians. 😀

My school is lacking in Whovians. It's pretty sad....I'll have to watch it online after it airs. Can't wait!!!
 
That is a pretty cool trailer...I love stuff with all the Doctors in it, even though I've only seen from 9 on. I hope I can find some other people to watch with here.

I'd invite you, but y'know, that annoying business of most of the country being between us. I had a couple of people over a few times last year. Rough_legged_hawk, for those of you who remember her, made chocolate Dalek cakes. Chocolate cake, chocolate chips, and a mini-marshmallow eye stalk. We take our Who seriously. :laugh: I may attempt a TARDIS cake for the 50th.

Apparently schools need 80% SCAVMA membership to have a vote on the SAVMA board. I now understand why it's tied to clubs. Doesn't mean I like it though.

Yep. I don't know how serious they're taking it here, but they've claimed they'll be checking the members of each club and those who don't meet that % of SCAVMA members will be denied the funding SCAVMA normally gives each club. Since technically you're required to be a SCAVMA member to join any other clubs.

We had to really pay attention to this in order to get funding for the Special Species Symposium we're hosting in April. Pretty sure every single one of us on the committee have to be members, which I honestly don't mind since we don't pay dues to our clubs.

Ah, I see. Our clubs makes us pay individual dues as well, but it's only $10 for the year for any given club and that includes wet labs (with the exception of some really involved ones that aren't free).

While I understand, it kinda sucks though, especially for small clubs who need the members. If you have to turn people away because they aren't SCAVMA members there goes your group...but if you don't you don't get the money that's needed. I just think the burden should be put on the individual more than the clubs, because at the end of the day officers can't really force people in our club to join SCAVMA if they really don't want to. And if a club hurts because of a lack of funding it hurts everyone, including those who are SCAVMA members and not dues evading scofflaws.

Oh I definitely agree that the responsibility should fall on the individual. IIRC, I think only board members of the clubs need to be SCAVMA members to receive funding, so that's like 5 people? But for newer clubs, yeah, that's definitely difficult. This is also only a rule as of this year, so I don't know if something changed in regards to SCAVMA funding across the board or just at our school. We just use the fact that we don't play club dues as a reminder to have people join SCAVMA.




On a different note, I lost my tragus earring replacement at some point during the day. Going to a get a new one tomorrow and 95% I'll get a new piercing as well. Just can't decide if I want to get the standard cartilage/helix piercing since I totally bypassed that, or get my rook done. I'm also starting to lean towards an antitragus but I don't know which side I'd want it on.

You just reminded me that I've been wanting to get a helix piercing for YEARS but still haven't because I was never able to decide which side to put it on . . .

Maybe I'll finally make a decision and get it for myself as a Christmas/Yay I survived my first semester of vet school gift.

Haha. I think I'm getting it on my left ear cause I want it up fairly high and my cartilage is like flattened oddly on my right ear, so I think it would be weird. I'm going to a highly recommended place, so I'm sure they can help me decide tomorrow what I want done.

And I'm totally getting one done for each year of vet school too...but then I'll be uneven, so I'll need another one at some point.

I don't have any details to add....but I'm rather :eyebrow: about it.

1. I don't want my FB associated with this account on here. (Made exceptions already via FB, but I'd rather not have it all linked).

2. I wouldn't want SDN posting crap on my wall.

3. I would think tying in FB is dumb since the whole point of having a username is that it isn't your real name...

All this can be edited in settings, I'm sure, but I don't understand the need to include it in an update. Oh well.

I am rather certain the logging in with FB isn't required, it is an option... .see quote below
